actaully raytracing in this game is used primarily to make it look darker

those images are just instances where the games non raytracing renderer bugs out and doesnt render it properly

turns out you can only stretch a shadow map so far before it freaks out , and that distance is pretty small

so when you get those huge parts of landscape shooting up into the sky or giant towers during times of day where the sun is really low on the horizon, the games renderer just sorta....shits the bed

it also solves one HUGE artistic problem the game has with its engine, and thats scenes where its overcast and foggy. those are prolly the WORST looking areas of the game becuase of the limitations of the renderer

this is raytracing off but max settings otherwise

raytracing maxxed. not a drastic difference at first glance, but in practice this actually makes things look grounded. without it, everything looks like its just floating above the surface of everything, nothing ever really touching

The problem is that I can’t enter my garage or apartment. Today I however entered the apartment and set the spawn location to spawn inside the apartment, now whenever I try to enter GTA Online, the game either crashes, gets stuck in the loading screen (and has to restart the game to fix it) or shows an error. I started playing skyrim again. First time in years, modded the vr version to have full body presence and physics interactions like a normal vr game, and the ability to speak dialogue choices outloud and dragonspeech, and it got me thinkin about elden ring, and how a core part of the story involves....blacksmithing lol

They took the sword with the rune of death, and broke part of it off to make knives out of it with the ability to kill a god, and it made me think....what if their was a way to beat the main quest of a game like skyrim via a skill like blacksmithing. Make it really hard to max out any one skill, but if you do, you could actually achieve a unique ending via godlike smiting abilities
