Before Valhalla came out I remember in some of the marketing they advertised social stealth, a home base that you could upgrade, a hood, a hidden blade, etc... So many people were like "look ac is going back to its roots!"

I saw right through it, didn't preorder it because I knew I wasn't interested in a bloated Ubisoft open world game at the time and I was exactly right about what we got. I ended up buying it a year later though because I had more time and I wanted a good viking game, not an ac game.

Yet here we are with mirage, even Ubisoft claiming that it's gonna be like old ac. But it's still a Valhalla character and a Valhalla centric story, still has Valhalla's movement and will probably have similar combat. Yet... "Ac is going back too its roots" right

And at the same time I think that's a GOOD thing. It should keep the backbone of the new games because it's just a stronger formula than the old games. The old games had janky combat, hardly any stealth, and terrible open world side content.

They had great stories, worlds, and parkour. That's how they should be remembered

I personally think unity had combat the closest to what ac yould have. It was super janky but the foundation was good, I think ripping off the Arkham games with a counter based combat system was the right step for ac

I think origins and odyssey have the best stealth gameplay, but need the social stealth mechanics of the old games

I think we should do away with sailing ships for a while and focus the game as stealth-centric
