The dungeon equivalent would be vaults in FNV, they can feel a bit repetitive but some of them defining features / themes. Besides, most of the vaults are optional.

I'd still heavily suggest playing it though, it's one of the best RPG games in my opinion.

Though the Honest Hearts DLC has a lot of caves since it takes palce in the Grand Canyon

But as far as the base game goes, Vaults are the most comparable to dungeons, even though they're so different

Yeah. While there are some caves in the game, there's not many at all compared to the insane amount of caves that Skyrim has

New Vegas has a very open world with tons of buildings and outside locations

Unlike the Draugr places in Skyrim, each Vault is very distinctly different to each other. One could be used as a hotel in the heart of Vegas itself, another could be held completely by raiders that has one or two questlines surrounding it.

There are more but I'd prefer not to talk about them since they're really good

I would always recommend Hardcore mode yeah

What's great is that it has mechanical overhauls (healing heals over time, there's food/water/sleep, and limb damage is healed independently etc), but it doesn't affect combat difficulty like enemy HP / damage

There's a separate difficulty slider for that

So you can go from Very Easy to Very Hard, with Hardcore toggled on or off
