Combat is fantastic because of:

• Great hit reaction and physics, whether it be where you hit the enemy from, or what you hit them with, or how they react with each other.
• Great level design sandbox with huge variety of elementals and other items in a sandbox, allowing you to tailor how you want to fight.
• Variety of weaponry (sharp/blunt, long/short) and how the zombies react to damage from them.
• Fantastic modding system that is actually surprisingly in depth, allowing crazy combos of elementals and perks that is hella fun.

Content offered is actually quite a lot:

• Short to mid-length story.
• TONS of side content that will take up almost 8x more time than the actual story itself, and is actually all rewarding and fun to do.
• There's unique additional post story completion content like more side quests that only appear after you beat the game.

Additional praises:

• Outstanding performance.
• Great sound design with weapons. (except guns)
• Faithful visual design and UI design in regards to the previous DI games.
• Fantastic RPG system when it comes to tailoring your build. Each character is actually unique (somehow), and being able to change out perks (skill cards) on the fly encourages experimentation and honing the right build for you.
• It's actually fun to fight the special infected. Each enemy is different with unique strengths and weaknesses, including variants of both common and special infected.

THE BAD

• Barely any soundtrack present. When it actually plays there's some good shit, but you're gonna have to really wait and listen for when it actually comes out.
• No "buy-back" system in traders. You're able to sell weapons and unique crafting parts, but if you missclick or otherwise, they're gone forever with no buy-back function like DI1 or the DL games.
• Combat on large slopes feels really janky. You can tell it's designed for flat surfaces only.
• Limited inventory for craft parts (99 max wtf)
