You do have to remember that the preview they showed ran on a custom made machine running a 4090 and an i9 13900k, it was done in a really small scale and a very enclosed level

And it uses its own engine thats based off of the XRAY engine STALKER used

It makes almost every other games AI seem idiotic and simplistic by comparison.

When they were developing the first stalker, the AI was so good that they gave it TOO much freedom and individual agency

The games featured 3 individual factions I believe and you could ally with any of them, but ally with one and it changes how the other 2 react to you

And they AI can go up to quest givers and do jobs for them just like the player

But originally it was so open ended that after awhile, an NPC could trigger the end of the game event

And had to scale it back a bit lol. Can't have an NPC beating the game before the player haha
