I just started playing resident evil 3 remake with maxxed out graphics,4k,raytracing maxxed, and after being wowed for a bit I went back to see what the original was like

I hadn't played it since it first came out in the 90s, but I remember the cutscenes at the start and throughout the game being AMAZING at the time

And imagining what it would be like to play a game that looked as good as the cutscenes

yeah thats the thing theres a difference between being good at the game and tryharding for a stat that you think will make you good at the game, if i'm playing tekken or any fighting game i'm not constantly doing low attacks just to chop away damage and win like that, i wanna get counter launches, do some combos, have actual fun

not just play in a way that guarantees me a win

like to me that's just not fun, its just being obsessed over winning

almost everyone i know who actively plays these games also noticed the same thing i noticed which is people play like your resume now has your K/D for the currently active game attached to it at the top with a big fat font, so you can't just have casual fun anymore and have to be counter sweating, and imo theres just no fun in playing like that, like yesterday i played a game of TDM and came out with a K/D of 12 - 9, i still didn't enjoy it cuz every single one of those kills was with 20 HP left and i could physically feel the sweat coming down the enemy team's buttcheeks
