I actually managed to reach the Institute for the first time ever in 4

There's tons of linearity in how you're meant to play through the main quest and it's annoying

I'm really enjoying it so far

This is the type of game I definitely wouldn't give a number score too

It's just dumb, silly, videogame action fun

Dramatic, but doesn't take itself too seriously and the gameplay is really good

I'm playing on hard and it's quite difficult at times but it forces me to utilize everything and when I'm doing that there's such a great combat flow

My complaints are that the levels are not particularly interesting to explore between combat encounters and some of the enemies are "I need a break" levels of annoying

Oh yeah and played about an hour of co-op, the experience holds up just fine with two players. The scaling feels perfect and you can synergize well with another player

I know a lot of people are saying it but it's nice to have a game just return to gaming roots and just be fun over the top action. It's just fun, and it's not afraid to get weird with it

My issue with the railroad is how they operate, there’s like no reason for them to memory wipe every synth that they come across, it doesn’t even help the synth, they don’t age, need to eat, need to drink, need to sleep, catch diseases or are able to create life etc. imagine how big of a shocker it would be to randomly find out you’re a synth brain wiped by the railroad when you’re like 20 years into a relationship with someone

I think that super mutants and the FEV are a walking example of a super bad outcome from advanced science with good intentions gone wrong. The Master in Fallout 1 believed them to be the successors of humanity, then lamented when they found out that super mutants cannot procreate, thus meaning extinction.

I don't know if this is a hot take but: Elden Ring (and as a whole Fromsoft games) have shit NPC questlines, where you'd have to look around for ages or just lookup online guides on how to complete them. And are sometimes very specific in their window timing that hardly any player will naturally actually experience them

Ultimately anyone can beat the game with any build if they're a god, but with 99.9999% of the playerbase, a build can make or break the game in regards to difficulty in Fromsoft games

And consider what the Chinese had that the US didn't know (considering how the US has tons of secret tech that the Chinese don't know). And the US had many allies that would've had access to this tech during the time period.
