also the thing about absolution was because they went for the more linear approach every sequence felt like the NPCs were actually keeping up with the events of the game, people just like to jump on hate wagons, the type of mofos who said they didn't like absolution because it wasn't like the classic games are the same type that never played those classic games, because if you did you'd realize how it was a step in the right direction and was the baseline that the modern trilogy was built upon

Hitman was always about experimenting with tools and leveles to find the best way to kill the target

Sure, absolution does that in some levels, but most of the time it's some kind of scripted sequence or a gunfight or just a stealth oriented level

And the story was DmC Devil May Cry level

I enjoyed the game to some extent, but the game was clearly not great

Also it was just a total downgrade in almost every way from Blood Money

absolution was a linear game, and it's pretty clear what they were trying to accomplish after blood money, how many times are you gonna keep throwing 47 into these random locations without narrative ? he was starting to become the johnny sins of assassins so they wanted to take the narrative approach and it worked, i'll never understand the "but its all scripted" argument that tries to degrade it because that's just a natural thing when you go for a linear game, the reason why i always say it was a step in the right direction is because it laid the fundamentals for what came afterwards

Blood Money built the fundamentals for the New Trilogy, and the linear design wouldn't be so bad if the story was at least good

i disagree tbh, when it comes to gameplay / bugs it was a complete overhaul, which was probably the only thing i had to criticize about blood money and the classic games overall, animations just yoinking and doing some weird shit depending on where you're at and the sort was common with the old games, as well as the AI's behavior, its understandable given the age of those games but still it's a relevant point especially when this point is discussed

the only thing the classic games had was the philosophy of the level design, giving the player multiple opportunities for assassinations, being able to do what you want explore the levels how you want and deal with an escalated situation however way you want, that sort of thing, but if we're being real the new engine that absolution introduced and the gameplay overhaul was much needed and i think it serves a much bigger purpose

Yes, I will say the old games don't play too good (aside from blood money) but that's only because controlls were pretty terrible, but the gameplay ideas were phenomenal, of course Blood money controlls better, it's ought to conaidering it's like 6 years order than Blood money

Should i get Resident Evil 2 + 3, Alien Isolation complete edition, dead space 3, the evil within 2, call of Cthulhu and voodoo Vince or dying light 2.

I played dying light 1 on ps4 back then. Was alright imo but i prefered Dead Island.

the main thing i hate about the new cod games is their failed attempt at creating an eco system

like they tried to make it so that MW19' - Cold War - Vanguard and Warzone are all tied to each other, in the sense that your weapons, attachments and operators (which cost money btw) are all preserved in warzone, the problem is you're expecting me to play those 3 games AND warzone ? it's made for people who literally play nothing else but cod in their life

oh and their joke of a system for progression, hey there jimmy you unlocked a new gun, now go grind it in multiplayer AGAIN to unlock it's attachments, they said with the new gunsmith system you won't have to do that and attachments are gonna be preserved on a certain system, i assume that means if you unlock a reflex spot for the M4A1 you can still use it for an M16 but imo that's just not good enough

like i'm not the type of person that's gonna be playing cod 24/7, their take on player progression hasn't changed at all since the franchise started, same with BF and it's one of the things that are killing the franchise
