The visuals just aren't so great. Like graphics wise it looks very good. The lighting is nice, the textures are all high quality, and the environments are nicely detailed

But the overall visual style of the game just doesn't work for me. Again it's too vibrant, too purple. Not dark enough for me, I think it's visual style looks worse than Arkham Knight

The actual city itself though is much better. Gotham Knights is actually quite big and has plenty of detail. And none of the regions are level gated either

Since I've only played two hours and wanted a good baseline I've played everyone equally. I've played each hero for about 30 minutes so far

I hate that this game is seen by so many as a successor to the Arkham games. It sets a false precedent for the game and it honestly makes me furious

I've already seen so many people so angry over the fact that it's grindy, you have to craft, the gear score, etc etc

Like it's an RPG! Do they not understand how these games work, or are they just expecting a beat em up

Like the crafting in this game is pretty bad. It's serviceable at best and it's inclusion really isn't necessary but it's not like it's intrusive or annoying. It's just there and you use it too make more gear

No it kinda annoyed me when I was on the bike but it's not like you're missing anything with that frame loss. You are just driving so although it's annoying it's far from game breaking.

I think the most frustrating frame drops are when you get a Molotov thrown you sometimes the frame dips mid combat sequence. Which is just annoying. I've oy noticed it happen maybe twice though

But then I played some training levels and tried to just get a hang of the mechanics (basically just stop playing like Arkham) and I started having a ton of fun.

Going too the crimes was starting to just become instinct cause I was craving more combat encounters too keep learning and getting better

With any two games you can compare whatever you want but people need to know that for the comparison to be MEANINGFUL, the two things have to actually be similar or one needs to be imitating the other

For example, with Gotham Knights, I think it's totally fair to compare the open world and level design to Arkham. These things we have standards for so you can compare the open world to basically any open world but Arkham has the benefit of also taking place in Gotham

Another example outside of Gotham Knights would maybe be like comparing the driving mechanics of watch dogs to GTA. GTA just has more in depth driving mechanics and better vehicle handling

Gotham Knights though, is nothing like the Arkham games. It isn't trying to be either. The combat cannot be any worse or better than Arkham because there's no comparison there, they are two separate systems

If we wanna compare Gotham Knights' combat to other games in it's realm I'd say the combat is better than the new assassin Creed games but worse than something like nier automata

Batman's combat can be compared to something like Yakuza, shadow of war, spiderman, hell even ghost of Tsushima
