I mean the thing about 30 fps is that it's not bad if the game is optimized around it. Like if the animations and movement are all made to look smooth at 30fps then it can sometimes be hardly noticeable. But if the game was built around a good PC and they were playtesting and changing the stuff around 60, 120, or higher fps then it's gonna look terrible on 30

This is mainly for 3rd person games

1st person games almost always look worse on 30fps

Basically yeah there's different types of crimes but I've actually found them to be more interesting that spiderman

So far my favorite crime to stop has been the bank robberies. It'll be like a dozen guys robbing a bank and you have to stop them from loading the money up into the truck so you have to pay attention to which guys are trying to carry the bags to load up the cash

The bike is just generally not good. It doesn't feel fast enough because the sense of speed is not there, the visual effects look goofy, the handling is fine but a bit heavy for a motorcycle, and the game practically breaks when you ride it

Like everything is fine then you drive the bike and you get frame dips, pedestrians stop loading in as much, there's visual artifacting, and you can watch the game render as you drive

I think it's why a lot of people said the game feels dead because on the bat cycle it seems like less pedestrians and cars load in

Cause when I was just walking and parkouring the streets actually felt quite alive

But then you ride the batcycle and it's empty

cuz if it is i wouldnt bother using it anyways

like if you gave me unity style parkour in that city i'd never use it, can you like run up walls jump from one end of a building as red hood then just use those leaps to get to the other ?

Also the traversal is trash so far. I haven't unlocked the unique traversals for any of the characters yet but the basic traversal is just LB + A + LB + A + LB + A until you get to your destination

Basically you have a sprint and jump button so you can parkour across and between rooftops that are about the same height, and that actually feels kinda nice. It's not nearly as deep as unity and definitely lacks the visual flair but it's good enough.

I do like that it can be cancelled though

I do think Gotham Knights shines in it's combat, open world, and SOME of it's progression systems. Apparently the story is super good too but I haven't gotten deep enough into it

You can eject from the bike but no glide kick or anything like that. You might be able to eject and to an aerial attack but I haven't tried yet ...Braaaains?

I've only played 2 hours as of right now. I'm not ready to give a full opinion and certainly not ready to give a number score but my first impressions are that it's a fun open world action RPG with a lot of nice progression systems but it's held back by it's visuals, clunky UI, and the bad side of it's progression systems

The combat actually does have the depth I was expecting

I can't wait to get to the bottom of everything it has too offer
