anyway so here's my opinion on something, I think comparing any game to arkham knight is a bad comparison

arkham knight was wayyyy ahead of its time in terms of graphics and it looks better than most games today whereas gotham knights looks a lot worse than most games today, it looks like sumth that'd come out during the 2016-17 era

Who would argue that lower resolutions are better if you could go higher?

I just was thinking bout something

One of the big limitations for game sized mods made for games like skyrim is voice acting,especially when the story needs to involve a character from the main game in New story events

And its becuase money and not being able to get in touch with actors even if you did have money,then the time it takes ro record it and into a format usable for the game

But ai generated voices are getting to the point of almost indistinguishable from the real actor

With an rpg with lots of voice acting in combination of the actors film and TV work, you could create large enough data sets to generate good enough dialogue for these types of mods

I'd love to create a comedy focused game sized expansion for something like skyrim or fallout that uses the existing characters but putting them into absurd situations, and make no side quests from the main story so that the main story can branch in its own direction with every minor decision made when your talking to characters instead of "good ending" "bad ending"

Its time to bring back open ended stories in these games

Thats what makes dungeons and dragons so fun, and jts what games have lacked for too long

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of Gotham Knights mechanics if you think this is true.

There are 4 heros with 3 skill trees each and all of them have unique playstyles, do you even know about how the ability and momentum meter look? Have you seen people who actually know how to play play it?

Forgive me, but I'm gonna assume you haven't. There's literally a momentum meter that just like in spiderman rewards you for perfect dodges and counter attacks, there's equippable abilities that allow you to perform different moves that are more in depth than spiderman and batman. The combat doesn't look as flashy as those games, but that's because it is a lot deeper and more complex. Especially once you get into elemental builds and combo-ing with a co op partners build

I've watched every piece of gameplay on the game so I really don't know how to find it again but essentially there's a "momentum" bar that charges as you dodge and counter attack. Once you charge it you can do more of your better abilities and such but you have to keep the combo going to keep it up, also they talked about Nightwing in particular who has skills that allow him to charge his momentum faster because he has a lot of momentum based attacks being the most agile and fastest of the group. His gameplay honestly looks closest to spiderman

Yeah so, gotham knights mixes in spider man's combat with arkham, there's a counter/parry if u dodge at the perfect time, people cant do it cuz they suck but it's there, as for creativeness, it's interesting. There's a lot of interesting mechanics considering the cooldown abilities, now the skill trees arent as diverse as I thought they were or even as it was advertised, for example Robin has two skill trees, stealth and combat, imo both of them should be upgraded but this feels like a cheap way to do an rpg? like what if I wanna mix in stealth with combat. I think it's falling rather short in terms of replayability, that being said all the knights function very different from each other, you're literally playing as 4 different characters rather than reskins of 4 different characters, which I like.

Robin has 3, they all have 3. Robins are Slugger, Stealth (I forgot what it's actually called) and knighthood. They all have a knighthood skill tree, but despite all having it it unlocks different abilities for all of them.

It's okay I guess, I mean the upsides are
Don't have to sign in to play
Don't need to be connected to the internet or the server to play (meaning you can play anytime you want as long as the game is downloaded)
And no microtransactions

Unfortunately the downsides are that we have to play 30 fps on current gen consoles and all the network features are being run client side, even when they aren't being used making the game a lot more demanding on your hardware than it would be if it was singleplayer.

like there wasn't really a known established formula back then, the ps2 era was when those formulas were established, then devs just kept copying them while making slight improvements
