Unfortunately elden ring came out this year

Game of the year is an insult to elden ring

It deserves game of the decade

Such an innovative game

It completely changed how I view open world games

And no game has felt the same since I played it

There's never been another game that has completely changed how I view an entire genre

In this case 2 genres

And this is coming from someone who wasn't even a souls fan when they played elden ring

I played DS3 and bloodborne in January to prepare for elden ring

I knew the game was coming and I knew I was gonna wanna check it out

The way I talk about fromsoft you'd think I'm one of the diehard defend everything fan but I'm really not

Just started playing souls games right at the start of this year

I'm really happy I did but like I said, after playing elden ring I just don't view games the same as I used too

There's just no other open world game I've played that lives up to elden ring

I'll proudly meat ride fromsoft all day they make quality games

The first game was us seeing Joel grow from a broken man, to a man. He found Ellie his hope, and become more happy. I think it makes sense because Joel grew as a character and he also never viewed himself as a morally bad character (shown in his dialogue when he says 'i saved her') also at the start of the game the track that plays is called 'unbroken' because Joel is, quite literally unbroken. This is further clarified by his last exchange with Ellie which shows how vulnerable he is, because apparently he exchanged something embarrassing and valuable for coffee, more of a desire than a necessity
