I recommend making custom weapon quick binds around your wasd and on your spare mouse keys so you can bring out any weapon when you need it, when you memorize your custom binds you can quickswitch with no effort. You won't get far with default binds and even if you beat the game on nightmare with them you will realize how much more powerful your slayer can be with custom binds in the future when you try to improve past just surviving.

The earlier you do this the better

because you will inevitably do it, so it's just going to be easier getting used to it if you start now.

Some good combos are super shotgun and ballista

precision bolt is also good to implement in to that

2 weapon combo is the basic and what you should learn to get through the game and the DLCs. There are heavier combos, but I wouldn't say they are necessary and you shouldn't worry about them for now.

Generally speaking we use all weapons in the game, though we typically don't use all weapons in a full quick switching rotation. It's mostly the Super Shotgun, Ballista, Rocket Launcher and Heavy Cannon's Precision Bolt mod. The remaining weapons are more used in specific situations where they shine the most.

As long as you're using Air Control, it doesn't really matter what you pick. Personally, I go Air Control, Blood Fuelled and Equipment Fiend.

If you really need health through glory kills, I would just shoot 2-3 shots on Fodder with a weak weapon. Best way to get health is to just freeze a big group of enemies and drop a grenade on them or any other crowd control ability.

There is not. If you need to wait on your chainsaw to constantly recharge, I would advise using more weapons.
