out of all of them NMS is the best in my opinion because while the exploration is about as deep as a rain puddle. They are easy to pick up abd every planet you come to has SOMETHING to do on it. An additional thing I did in the past: I decreased the clock speed of my CPU. My Intel i5-8300H has this feature called "turbo boost". Throttlestop lets you disable that, too, iirc.

It is safe—just make sure you are picking negative values to ensure you are decreasing the voltage. If you undervolt too much, the main thing that happens is your PC bluescreens/crashes, then, when you start up your PC again, the undervolt is removed, allowing you to try to a different value.
