it depends on the animations and stuff too. i think they have a less likely chance to die or get dismembered when they are in a staggering animation. more likely when neutral or moving normally.

as well as you are more likely to get a "critical hit" which idk how they work i think its just random or based on some stat. which is basically just an instant kill. or im crazy.

If you do extraction (final mission) they spawn 4 demolisher when start running from viral. I usually use Clock potion and melee them upfront there face and they go down easily. You can try using silence weapons so you won't lose your clock potion.
