Honestly? Volatiles are worse at range than at melee.

For regular volatiles, a well place shotgun blast close up will drop them.

At max bow legend you can OHKO them with a headshot.

Alphas are a whole different story though.

Electric weapons are probably the best way to deal with both.

The getting shocked animation lets you get loads of free hits in.

Melee is very risky cause if one of them pins you while the others are around you might as well count your blessings

Unless you consume Volatiles for breakfast, lunch and dinner then don’t even try to fight with a firearm unless you can handle a horde of them

I have never really tried the hardest difficulty in any game so this is a first timer for me

It’s not as bad you might think, do things at your own pace, all I can really tell you is use your surroundings

On normal you can get away with just hacking and slashing throughout the entire game

Lower levels on nightmare require you to actually use things like spikes, fire crackers, dfa’s etc

If you wanna fight your way through things that is, you can usually just go around
