Later he finds the children of the sun which believe the mother is some sort of goddess iirc.

The mother is a self conscious volatile that wants to bring "the god of the sun" sooner by detonating a nuke she has in the place she lives in and request Kyle to detonate it. (Ending 1)

Or he can deny or kill the mother, but it results in Kyle mutating into the volatile via the blue gas (and later) drinking the blue gas in liquid form, after what he finds his way out away from harran into uninfected areas where he proceeds to infect and make the virus spread further.
