Aside from lowering settings and windowed mode, there isn't much you can do, unfortunately.

MSI Afterburner + Rivatuner. I think Rivatuner might come with the former. Anyway, with these, you can get an on-screen display showing you CPU/GPU usage and GPU/CPU temps. A must-have for computer—or, well, laptop—gamers.

DL have pretty bad relationship with some laptop video cards. If ur CPU is fine, try to change resolution from "without frames" to "with frames" and back.

If your CPU/GPU temp is over 85°C, I recommend taking steps to decrease the temperature, such as:

1. Shutting off the laptop and unplugging everything from it.
2. Using a can of compressed air designed for cleaning laptops/electronics to blow dust out the vents.
3. After turning the laptop on, undervolting the CPU with Throttlestop (optional, but also very helpful—it's likely decreased temps by 7-10°C for me).

I had to do 1 and 2 myself recently (I always do 3). Can completely fix low FPS, if it was occurring due to temperature throttling.

I have never used Nightrunner, but Pact With Rais is really early in the story, so I'm not surprised if someone with that degree of story progress only has access to weak weapons like table legs and pipes.

I just remembered: while doing Pact With Rais in my first-ever playthrough (no mods), I acquired a weapon that was stronger than the ones I already had. It was probably some 20-50 damage pipe.

Yeah, at some point, I just stopped fighting them and kept running. Whenever I wanted to stay still a bit, I made use of places they struggle to get to due to how clumsy they are—really thin, elevated surfaces. Those pipes or wires (or w/e those last ones are called—they're in Old Town).

I'm at 75% story completion here, and so far I didn't find weapons like the big scythe and different crossbows. In fact, other than certain weapons drop by bosses, I didn't find anything special. Also, couldn't find ways to purchase weapon mods, so I couldn't really enjoy much of the customization. All of these things are available in the DLCs or will appear before the main quest ends?

Night hunter booster + speed potion + use kuai dagger.

Every time you do a parkour move while wielding the kuai dagger, you get a temporary speed boost. Stacks up to 10 times. If there isn't parkour to do where you are, just keep the sprint button held down, move forward and, while doing so, repeatedly tap the crouch button to spam slide. Sliding counts as a parkour move.

I was running in circles in the same area (Old Town, on the ground) and volatiles (which are faster than virals) couldn't catch me, but this was only with kuai dagger + speed potion. I didn't know the NH booster stacked.

I will see how the volatiles in the Countryside fare, at some point. They run faster than the main-campaign ones.

1. Shields. When I was testing with a friend, it seemed, if some nearby spit did not stick to you, prior to its detonation, you can block with a shield and the spit will not affect you. If the spit does stick to you, it will affect you, even if you were blocking.

2. Camouflage or cloak potion. The bombers won't chase you if you are cloaked/camouflaged. Seems they'll just stand there. If the night hunter hits you even once, the cloak/camouflage will end, though.

3. Go to elevated areas. They can't climb. Be aware, there is a telebomber glitch that'll occasionally make one appear on roofs. This especially occurs on top of the warehouses in the Slums, so pay attention to the minimap if you ever have to go on 'em while affected by Horde Spit. Also, for streetlight campers: clawing can knock you off if you are not slashing or jumping.

I see. 2H seems pretty meta for BTZ. You dodge one Tackle in the right terrain, and you can certainly get 120 damage on the NH before it gets away. Some people are skilled enough to do some next crossbow shot → 2H Ground Pound combo to kill a full-health night hunter after evading only one Tackle.

That must be Pact With Rais. Yeah, just use the strongest pipes or table legs or w/e you can find. You are not strong enough to do Harran Prison at that point and your low agility level might make the parkour trials in Bozak a bit difficult. You could probably still try Bozak and see if you can get far enough to get a big on-screen notification that you received a Bozak docket. The zombies in the Bozak Horde are quite weak—barring the goons and demolishers.

I was already aware of the contexts in which "cyka blyat" (or a plain "cyka") is used prior to seeing Russian players use it. Seems to be some vulgarity that can be used to simply express disappointment, shock or anger—doesn't necessarily have to be a targeted insult.

'Nother common term you may see often from Chinese-speaking players is "ka", which is apparently used to convey "lag". They seem to say "6" (or "666") if someone gets a cool kill, and "99" at the end of a match in response to "gg", so I'm assuming that's something along the lines of "gg".

This is the one game in which I encounter a surprising amount of non-English speakers. Would be convenient if there was built-in support for some translation API, even if one had to supply an API key or something.

Oh, by the way, the Google Translate mobile app allows you translate text through your camera in real time. You can even take a picture in the app and it will translate. I've used that to translate some Russian chat messages comprised of characters I cannot type. Finding an opportunity to pick up my phone and translate text in the middle of a BTZ match is quite the drag, though.

The Last Hope. It is one-handed.

If you:

1. Craft the Last Hope from, say, a Fabulous Pickaxe (this two-handed pickaxe can be acquired from a Bozak docket).
2. Upgrade the Last Hope with 4 kings (it indeed has 4 upgrade slots).
3. Apply the God Hammer elemental blueprint to The Last Hope.

You can get approx 7.6k to 7.7k damage (if you have +100% 1h damage from the maxed-out legend passive. Without legend, it will be about 3.8k to 3.85k damage).

Though, someone has told me they managed to get it to 9k. Then, recently, someone said they managed to get it 14k. I'm not fully sure how these people did that.

Throw a flare close to any volatile that has yet to detect you. The volatile will run away without any sort of chase being triggered.

I find volatiles quite easy to avoid, even when devoid of a hook.

You can also literally run right behind the volatile and you'll be fine. As long as you stay out of its cone of sight.

Yeah, volatiles are noticably less alert than ordinary zombies. Volatiles won't even be alerted by an ordinary flashlight aimed at them from behind/above, while ordinary zombies will.

I wonder if night walkers are alerted by ordinary flashlights.

I recall water being a nice way to end chases quickly, too. Zombies can't swim. Whenever a chase ends, the volatiles and night walkers that were pursuing you seem to subsequently run very far away. Perhaps they'll growl for a bit prior to doing so.

So, I would intentionally trigger chases then end them to get volatiles out of the way, if I needed to spend a notable amount of time in one place.

There is an upgrade for the buggy that will facilitate night-time driving. UV Headlights, which can be further upgraded to UV Safezone. I only ever use it against the night hunter at this point, though.
