The rumors of Dying Light 3 being in Japan, I think that would slap so hard. But they can't keep the same basic parkour they've always had. They need to up their game BIG TIME. I'd say they should fast forward another 20 years into the future and have the virus evolve FURTHER creating intelligent zombies. And not ones that "ah they can corner you" kind of intelligent. I mean, some that can retain their vocal cords and still say some English words therefore they pretend to be still alive to be able to lure players into traps with a false sense of security but actual traps too not some gang up on you with a bunch of zombies. I've wanted Bloodborne's Chalice Dungeons so badly for TB, no game has come close to recapturing that feeling of terrifying dungeon exploration, and the randomly generated dungeons had some crazy designs and enemy placement.
It's so easy to do with TB's lore too, castor woods has such a cool history with its catacombs, tunnel systems, bunkers and caves. All of those could easily be used as different themes for each section of a dungeon

I explored every inch of the map and there's 100% an area they can expand on, there's a road that's broken off and then it connects more to outside of castor.

What bug? I usually take a UV bar and toss it at the beginning just as you're entering the tunnel back. Stops the volatiles chasing you until you get a bit ahead when they start to pop out of vents, doors etc.

Back then, the Bolter gave you sample tissue to upgrade your weapons with toxic upgrades, so hunting it at night actually had a purpose. Now in Dying Light The Beast, toxic upgrade materials are easy to find during the day or just buy from a trader, so thereās basically no real reason or motivation to hunt Bolters at night anymore.

"theres no sense of controlled movement" what do you even mean, every parkour animation is very controlled and more in depth than it is in dl1, a more expanded parkour system is always a good thing, it didnt need to stay so simple like how it was in dl1, as it was really not that interesting except for a couple unique skills. i dont even know why you brought up frustrating deaths, thats literally just you.

yeah id like to see these glitches you're talking about, because i havent seen any one here complain about that. climbing over obstacles has literally no issue lmao, how smooth it is depends on how you like it. I havent encountered one problem with it besides messing up a jump. being smooth depends on how you like the different parkour systems.

dl1s parkour isnt "slow" at all unless its the climbing, which even then goes moderately fast as the beast. you can quite literally build up a ton of momentum which makes you go super fast

I havent seen any parkour issues besides being stuck almost hovering behind a car/wall trying to get to the trunk. That one required a game restart and didn't break anything. The explosive behind the back is what got me the most. lol. Killing mist and BOOM! dead!

In Dying Light, when a Volatile falls from a building, it screams and reacts like a living creature, which makes the game feel intense and realistic.
But in Dying Light 2 and Dying Light: The Beast, Volatiles sometimes fall silently like a dead body with no reaction at all. Itās a small detail, but it removes a lot of the immersion and fear that made the original special.
Another missing detail is how the infection felt alive and connected in Dying Light. Biters could turn into Virals, and even during night chases Virals could join the pursuit too, not just Volatiles. This made the world feel chaotic and unpredictable.
In the last two games, night chases are mostly handled by Volatiles only, which makes them feel more scripted and less chaotic compared to the original.

Maybe make them also not the "mc" meaning they cant just slaughter every single person they see but rather struggle like Aiden does with a lot of the renegades.

I dont think the iconic ones count, I cant remember if you can upgrade them or not, but count your weapon mods, consumables and the grapple hook and uv flashlight, then the weapons that can be upgraded to gold, thats what I did
It's the ones in the base game without NG+ that count.
For an afternoon I just put on a series while grinding darkzones, now whenever any new blueprints are added they are upgraded to max immediately on my main save

I know they made some changes, because most people complained that it was too OP and 1shot most of the time when the enemies weren't scaled up.

there's a few things that really annoy me about this game after spending like 140 hours on it
enemy grab range seems like its longer than your melee range even with a long weapon
which makes no sense and means they can grab you through a swing of your weapon
and backstab is really pointless because melee attacks make a ton of noise regardless of the weapon used
like if you're gonna have a backstab mechanic at least make it silent with melee knives
anyways im really irritated with how it scaled and ill probably delete this file and disable xp gain at 299 once i reach it again
oh it only disables the hud element, not xp gain itself
grappling hook auto aiming to enemies is also insanely annoying
like if i wanna grapple next to an enemy so i can get close and kill them
it keeps grabbing the enemy and I'm going nowhere
skill issue, try dodging more
not when enemies clip through each other so you can hit one and the guy you dont see behind them grabs you outta nowhere

damn, can't embed. Basically, one of a couple videos I took of how frequent grabs are. In just a few seconds I get grabbed twice. I remember testing it too, I got grabbed a few times for every couple of seconds by one biter as well. It's just annoying and disruptive more than anything
i got grabbed while playing today, did the quick escape, immediately after escape animation finished i got grabbed again by the same zombie

I sometimes get grabbed 2+ times in a fight too, but every time it happens I notice it's because I turn my brain off and autopilot and kind of just mash attack
Dodge back and let them whiff the grab, slide through them to cancel the animation, grapple (the skill) if it's the running grab attack, windmill gives grab immunity during its animation, even just stepping 2 steps backwards is enough to avoid a grab
TB gives you an ungodly amount of ways to deal with what they throw at you, but every time I see complaints about grabs the gameplay shows the person standing in point blank range mashing light attack
Not always. The grab hitboxes are weird and screwy with how long they are, and given they can get you mid-swing, or even mid-jump, they just lock on. You have no actual defense against it other than just being further away.
It doesn't have any real place in high- or even mid-level play. It doesn't contribute meaningfully to the fights, it just makes them feel more like a chore at a certain point
because attacking them and jumping aren't direct counters to the grab
in DL1, sure, you could attack them out of grab animations and you were immune to grabs while in the air

You need to respect the enemy, no matter what kind of enemy it is. If you want to stay super aggressive, again use windmill
windmill is a full on 100% counter against grabs, it's so stupid good
if you start a power attack and see the grab coming, convert it into a windmill and you instantly have grab immunity for the full animation
If you manage to get the weird timing right, where you're far away just out of their reach, but also within range of hitting them. The problem is that it's just annoying to be grabbed over and over and over
cancel that windmill's recovery into a slide and you go from grab immune attack into a grab immune mobility move
that's also only with 2-handed weapons. If you're spec'd into 1h or just like 1h playstyle, you're having to deal with using a weapon type you don't really care for, for any real reason.
It's just clunky
I can't say for sure what a solution would be, the whole thing about "players are good at finding problems, not solutions", buuuut the grabbing thing is still just an annoyance

2h weapons just have way too many issues, one dimensional power attacks, slow lights, a bad windmill animation
it just means you're not used to the flow of the combat. DL1 was easy to get used to because there wasn't much to learn or master. TB expects you to learn what is and isn't effective depending on what attack is incoming
I think the flow of combat is just clunky. I'm good at games, I know how to play stuff, but The Beast just doesn't have fun combat. That's the biggest weak point of it imo
Slide cancels, dodge cancels, dodging into biters staggers them, windmill's animation giving full grab immunity, knowing when you can and can't charge a power attack during your dodge animation
TB did a great job at making zombies not an absolute joke, so you actually have to care about all of these things to do well against large hordes
Up to a point, sure. Early game, yeah they're dangerous. After awhile, their only defense is some gimmick that disables combat for like a second, and their weird stun threshold compared to Crane getting knocked over by a stiff breeze every now and then
But I also don't know what Techland's vision for endgame is. Do they want us to feel like "Aaahhhh, finally, I'm a zombie-killing machine!" at the end, or do they actually want commons to still be a viable threat despite big number damage?
Has anyone else's revive serum just disappeared? I got both of them, and then out of nowhere I checked my inventory and they were gone. Do you know if they're consumed by abandoning some side missions, or how does it work?

Oh god, I didn't die for nothing. When you die, an animation plays that tells you to revive with the serum, but in this case, it didn't happen.
I guess I've never lost a revive serum out of nowhere before, not trying to discount the situation. I didn't even know revive serums were a thing until my 4th or 5th attempt at deathless.

Yeah, Iām on NG+3 and it provides ample exp for story missions and side quests. On top of killing zombies and going to setup safe zones and restart substations. Only downside is getting less-than-satisfactory loot from zombies. If I need med kits I just go into a new players game and farm volatiles for mil med kits.

Just speedrun main story and the legend levels will build up naturally, it's like a 2.5 hour run and you'll probably hit 300 before you even hit NG+11

I hit 300 right after completing NG+7 with pretty much no side quests at all, but I also got my first 70-ish levels during 2xp
exp rates get crazy in the later NGs
Even at 3 itās crazy. 63,000+ per level (to level up, not per mission) at least where Iām at. Iām just taking it a bit slower and saving all of the side quests and substations/safe areas til the end of the story before I move on, then grinding on zombies for loot before I move on to 4.

Volatile Nests are really disappointing, the weapons feel too limited, and the game is missing so much compared to what made Dying Light special.The enemies lack good AI, their sounds, designs, and movements feel weak, and theyāre way too easy to fight. Even the Viralsā dodging feels bad and makes them easy to kill.Legend Levels are too easy to level up, and thereās barely any variety in how you progress them. The Alpha Volatile design is disappointing and nowhere near as intimidating as it was in Dying Light 1.There are no memorable Dark Zones, and the vehicle system feels unfinished since there are no upgrades or progression for it. You really neglected this game a lot.There are barely any reasons for chases to start anymore. In Dying Light 1, you had Bolters, different types of Virals, and multiple situations that could trigger intense chases. But in Dying Light: The Beast, the only real reason a chase starts is because of Volatiles, and it makes the whole system feel repetitive and less dynamic. I won't disagree with that, you are right, but for me personally I just enjoy the games way more then than it's flaws for it to be a problem for me.
Compared to the previous games yes it has less content but the devs did state that before the game would launch it would be smaller in scale, the updates have added great content and it looks to be that there will be more updates, what will be in those updates we don't know but I look forward to it regardless because it's just another reason to play the game again.
Most people look at the game and expect content and DLC like it's a live service game, which it is not, its a single player game that get's a decent amount of post launch support and because the beast is smaller in scale compared to DL1 and DL2, they are playing around with new and different concepts like survival mechanics and then the restored land update which I am hoping will be expanded on even more ot taken to a next level in a sequel.
I totally get some of the valid complaints though.
That's how I thinking. I'm going by what they said at the beginning before the game was released, that it wouldn't get updates like the other games, so anything that comes is just a bonus.

The trucks are still awful. They had something great in 1 with the buggies, but these trucks are stiff as a board still. Even after doing everything and getting that plat, this is the weakest entry they have made yet.

Dying Light: The Beast has been released as a digital-only title for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and does not currently have a standard retail physical disc release. Techland has acknowledged that they are looking into "cool options" for physical availability later, but nothing official has been announced yet.
