Neither of us is wearing that, since it doesn't seem to work for legend levels. We are aparty of three people, and we have played the whole normal game, then NG1+ and now NG2+ together. Both of their saves shows the x4 multiplier, only mine shows x5.5. We have checked the XP gains are consistent with the number shown, so if they join my game they get more XP, and if I join theirs I get less. We do not have any mods or such, I am not sure either if it is my multiplier that is wrong or theirs, since I don't know what it is supposed to be at NG2+.

You don’t have to beat it if you plan on beating it with your friend you just have to start your own and get past the prologue and once co op opens up if both of you are at the part progress share will be active. If you joined him without starting your own nightmare and without being on the same quest as they are yeah you’ll have to do it again on your own save

They keep going up by about 30 levels per NG+

Some higher and lower depending on what area your in

You’ll level up less and get to where you need to be faster. Just do main quests and skip dialogue and cutscenes I’m able to do the story in 2 hours and 30 min when speed runnin

Not really, the game has gotten 2 events and 2 big updates and it’s only been out for 4 months that’s faster than any other game

DL2 was next anyways, it has a year of support left and The Beast just finished the COTB event. I’m surprised DL1 got an event but it’s not really nothing new.

Yeah people forget we got 12 weeks of challenges with car skins, weapons. Outfit. Also PUBG event. NG+, Legend Levels and Nightmare mode. As you said faster then the other two games and honestly the stuff they added faster is better then the other games nightmare/NG+. I cannot stand when I see (oh beast is dead etc) as people exaggerate something that isn’t true at all.

I don’t sit in post end game just farming in any of the games either. I do that during the story and then reset like the other games. I find people who beat the story and just sit in post game forever extremely boring and stupid to complain that there’s nothing to do until more gets added when not long ago Tymon asked what we wanted to see for the beast. DL2 released after Christmas and took months to setup for its Halloween Christmas events. The beast will see the same treatment IMO. Since it released really close to those holidays with no time besides the features and events we got

Agreed, people just act like the game needs an update every month as if it’s some kind of live service and it’s not. I get Techland does more for their games than most but that’s led to people expecting more and more as time goes on which can be frustrating on their end I’m sure

Yeah So I didn’t want copy pasted low effort events for this game. I want them to stand out more then the other two games (hence nightmare mode hunger/alpha) and ng+ scaling/the amount of LL skills we got. I expect that effort.

If we got Halloween Christmas events. That worked like 2 I would’ve expected the complaints we got now for the 2 events of being low effort to just make people log in and do their stuff then get off.

Yep. I feel the same way I rather wait however long for good quality updates I don’t want them pushing out slop each month just to please inpatient people.

It’s great how it is but all it really needs is some agents with missions, some bounties from pilgrim outpost and something similar to gre anomaly’s but with Chimeras and it’d be golden. Just give us some stuff to replay and work towards for XP and rewards that way the only way to level isn’t just NG+

Yeah I’d like bounties soon and some escort/defend/kill all type missions that help build the post world or during the game with the NPCs.

I think one problem with doing this method in TB is that the game's scaling is so piss easy until the last 3-ish missions, even on Nightmare NG+12 with no damage boosting legend skills, you're 1-2 shotting everything for the first 80% of the story

In both DL1 and DL2, with full legend damage boosts, you're still threatened by literally everything in Nightmare NG+1, and stuff is tanky enough to where you have to think when you're engaging in combat

Depends on your level really, as long as you’re not over leveled it’d pretty balanced. But yeah if your level 60 on NG+1 it’ll be a cake walk

TB is the only DL game that gives you an innate damage boost for simply using the weapon equal to your own level, and we have no way to "downscale" ourselves unless we crafted tons of stuff long before reaching the point that we became OP

I'm on NG+14 and just recently made the mistake of doing a new cycle, the game is horribly easy even with random unmodded blue weapons. It's basically killed my current desire to play the game. I need to speedrun through the campaign yet again just to get to the fun part

The balance in general is just off, it's easy until you get to THAT ONE TANKY FIGHT and only after that does the game feel much more balanced

It's weird because the damage numbers coming from the enemies feels perfect besides kicks/throwing knives doing 80% of kyle's hp. Enemies just die too fast, it takes 2 light attacks with a random garbage blue rarity axe to kill everything smaller than a goon

I also wore scav gear from LL 0 to LL 300, and saw a grand total of 2 finishers in that time. They just overtuned enemy stamina, you literally NEED stamina damage gear to see finishers again

in DL2, it seems like finishers will appear if the enemy stamina reaches below 25% and their health reaches a low enough point. In TB, it seems like you either make their stamina hit 0%, or you won't see the finisher prompt

Perhaps they revisit the tuning or give more toggles for difficulty. I still don’t know if melee finishers work since NG+ was added they bugged them and only beast mode ones worked. So Idkn if they haven’t fixed it yet in the 2 months.

Only way to fix it is by giving enemies more health or more stamina

The only way I’ve seen them trigger is an awful method of dodging them as they grab or run into them to drain their stam it takes awhile and it’s not even worth it. I’ve seen their stunned state a lot and no prompt to do it but beast mode works for it sadly. I’d say they need more stamina for sure.

I even pointed this out specifically in the last feedback survey. Nightmare Biters/Virals have too little hp, goons/demolishers need a tiny bit more, and the nuclear kick/throwing knives from human enemies was too much. We just haven't seen an update since that last survey

I think literally all they have to do is make it so nightmare automatically starts at the "final story scaling" modifier, whatever number they used for that section of the game feels great

I feel like I have to play much sweatier in DL2's nightmare right now. Even with maxed out lvl 9/scaling weapons equipped with artifact rarity weapon mods, those orange Renegade events are still insanely dangerous if I don't play perfectly

TB's biggest flaw was making weapons scaling from LL1 all the way to LL300, idk how they're gonna balance a game when your weakest weapon does 50 million damage

Both DL1 and 2's weapon stats maxed once you hit the max survivor level (25 for 1, 9 for 2) and the only way to go beyond that was to optimize them perfectly (3 King mods and Legend Level damage for DL1, Exotic rarity, Legend Level damage, and "+1H damage" or "+2H damage" armor stats for 2).

Even when you got super sweaty optimized in 1, biters didn't melt in Nightmare NG+. 2 feels the same as 1 so far, I'm consistently getting finishers BEFORE kills

it also helps that 2 actually has a legend tree that boosts stamina damage, while TB doesn't (and needs it)

exploring the world for king upgrades would be fun, but the balance still needs to be fixed before that

having weapons go into the millions was the biggest mistake, DL1 weapons capped at around 8-8.5k, and DL2 seems like 1500-2500

having to calculate damage numbers when they're in the millions, with headshot modifiers, heavy attack MVs, etc just makes it so much harder to balance

The main complaint for DL2 was that’s it’s too easy so I’m sure they thought more health would make the game harder which it does but the weapons doing so much damage on top of legend skill upgrades and mods break it

Legend levels unlock the moment you hit lvl 15 no matter what. Each NG+ cycle just gives better modifiers for faster legend levels

I got to legend levels before going with a new game plus but you can't grind so you're better off going into a new game

I think the best method would be to focus only main story UNTIL the world starts outscaling your current legend level, then you can catch up by doing side quests/unlocking safe zones

Yeah I can agree with the dmg from snipers and knives or bows being insane from NPCS though I don’t mind it, I’m surprised the knifes hit that hard but I guess it’s fair if we can one shot them in the face with bows guns and knives. Now the kicks in nightmare/2 are still crazy for how much dmg is done to you for just kicks. I also agree with your scaling and what needs to be done. I was wanting all the bosses and enemies to scale like end game Baron since you said it’s the sweet spot and I honestly enjoy the longer fights but also where I can do good damage but just for longer so surviving or doing dmg isn’t an issue I just wanna beat on them longer and enjoy the fights/music the execution of them. Now for DL2 I hope it sees balance like the beast for weapon damage (guns/bows/knives) take too little damage to one shot npcs or infected that aren’t volatiles/goons (those types are the exceptions)

So seeing their stamina increase to where melee can trigger finishers again that would be nice…maybe next event for the beast…anytime now…

You should focus on the stamina upgrades, damage resistance if you play on harder difficulties and beast mode upgrades if you use it first. But ultimately it’s based on your playstyle upgrade the things you use and rely on most. Everyone’s different so people will upgrade things differently

Honestly, I really dont like the fact they nerved throwing enemies

It used to be so fun in dl2 but now I dont even know when I can throw them

Not only is there no button hud to throw them like in dl2 but the zombies also just hunch over a little bit instead of flying

Which i would get if crane was a normal guy but his ahh is a mutant or sum

So he defenetly should be able to throw enemies like aiden

The game also feels much stiffer than dl2

Dl2 felt more fluid in its combat and parkour

Either way its still very fun

The atmosphere though..

Dl2 was more cartoony, I was never afraid of the zombies, not even at night

No you can join people it won’t fail you. Shared progression only works if you are at the same place or farther than the host or vice versa so if you join someone who’s farther than you it won’t count for you and you’ll have to redo it when you get back into you own game

The games parkour is much more complex than dl1’s parkour is, I personally think it feels much more better than 2 and 1, the combat (especially the guns) feel so much better than 1’s, the night time is pretty much the same just with different ways to escape volatiles with the parkour

if you ever plan on playing nightmare mode, prepare alot of food because the hunger bar drains quickly

Take your time to loot and explore, make sure to search the right side gas tank on trucks for fuel, if you Plan on eventually playing nightmare make sure to loot as much batteries and food as you can a good way to do that is by buying out the vendors on the easier difficulties. Be sure to loot every dead body and break down every weapon and gun you comes across that you aren’t using.

Dark zones loot respawns relatively quick so if you need resources you can loot one in old town, then run to the next closest dark zone to loot that one and run back to the first one and the loot will have respawned. When you get to military convoys there will be 1 armored infected you can kill who will have the key to open the truck, there’s 1 per truck
