Why is it that techland cant seem to get the head stomp animation to work correctly?

Dying light 2 and now the beast both cant actually show the players foot crushing their head, instead it stops well before it even touches the head, and Kyle also gets on his tip toes on his other foot when he does it...its bizarre

In dying light 2 it seems like they tried to get around this issue by making the player literally jump in the air for a double foot stomp that never looked right, the players body would stop a couple feet above the enemies head

It makes way more sense than vehicles, especially since there aren't many open areas at all, the jeep is barely small enough to drive comfortably

Common misconception amongst a lot of fans, DL2 was originally very floaty. But got WAYYYYYYYYYY better later on, however it’s still very unrealistic but most DL games are in general so it don’t matter. People went back and played an outdated DL1 and thought to themselves “wow this is super floaty” but in reality it’s not even as bad as DL2 used to be, but still not as polished as DL2 is NOW, and DLTB as well. It’s just outdated parkour systems, but still golden imo. People blow it way out of proportion. They were FINE with it when it came out back in the day

Yeah definitely a lot of the animations were definitely top tier it’s just running around it felt clunky, I think that’s partly why they tried making DL2 so floaty. I definitely prefer The Beasts parkour the best, it’s a step in the right direction. Feels great and looks great imo

I enjoyed dl1. I did struggle with dl2 though because it was so different control wise. That doesn’t discern the fact that Jonah and the other voice actors didn’t try. They did absolutely amazing. One day I want to meet Jonah and get his autograph the same way I did Roger. Would be fun to have both physical copies of the games signed by both protagonists.
