I like how, in Beast Mode, Grappling stuff can pull you in. So much easier to travel around and I'm used to the Night Hunter in DL1 being able to do that with tendrils.

I can't really refer to specific ones because of the spoilers rule but in DL2 you do get people like Lawan (not a fan of her character tbf) who do a lot of acts for anything other than her grand goal, you have peacekeepers like Rowe and arguably Aitor who do make compassionate acts for reasons other than their own benefit.

You also had an entire faction historically in the Nightrunners whose whole thing was helping people without a major benefit to themselves. Obviously the Nightrunners fall off by DL2 but still

Same with DL1 you can just look at the Tower for people who will go out of their way to recue others not from the area despite the risk it puts themselves at

In Skyrim you're in the midst of a civil war and the possible end of the world as you know it and you have side quests about literally picking flowers (also side quests are optional)

-Organic faction shifting, through actions more than picking a choice (up to extinguishing a faction during the game, not only in endings), including choosing doomer Aiden siding with renegades
-Less side quests but with more involvement, more developed aspects
-Interiors, places that stand off and feel like discovering something
