Sorry, had to do smt. Imo i liked the beast a lot better than DL1 in a lot of things. The combat feels a lot nicer with the mix betwen the beast mode and regular human gameplay. The swings also feel chonkier, the zombies break apart more cleanly and it just feels nicer. The story i liked a lot more than DL1, even tho its a bit edgy, its fun. Side quests were less goofy than DL1 but i liked them just as much. Cars are fun, but in DL The Following the buggies were better imo. Only things i think The Beast didnt beat DL1 is the map, Castor Woods is cool but its way too small, and overall content. Its normal, they did say the beast is a smaller game, but it feels like wasted potential for this to not have a bigger map and legit just be Dying Light 3. But yeah, if you liked DL1, the beast feels like a propper sequel to it. The Night is also a lot more fun with the propper stealth mechanics. Gotta walk through the night with your flashlight on but be carefull because if a volatile sees your light itll try to find you, gotta turn it off and wander a bit in total darkness wich is very nervewrecking but so much fun. A good game, my only issue was how small it was, and when a game's only issue is me wanting more game, its a good issue to have.

None of us played Dying Light for the story, they always kinda suck. But DL1 was just Kyle being sent across 2 factions doing their biding and trying not to get Harran blown up by his assholish boss company. That and the whole corny ahh "are you a dog kyle?" stuff Rais kept spewing non stop. The beast also has the same corny ahh writing, but it boils down to "Me Kyle, Me Angry, me gonna rip your guts out and hang you with them" wich is a lot simpler and fun

I think the issue with the whole 'dlc' thing is that Each main game in a franchise should add to the fomula significantly. The Beast is like... an attempt to polish the formula. it does a good job at that, but it doesn't add a whole ton. At the same time, its polish, story and art, for me, are all reasons for it to be a mainstay game
