Hi all! I’d like to know your thoughts… is it just me, or are players finding it a tad annoying when trying to loot bodies, but your character goes for the snacks instead? Whenever I’m on a loot spree, I seem to have to get super close and accurate enough to trigger a loot action, unlike DL1 which seems easier to loot bodies… interested to know if anyone shares the same opinion. Loving this game so far! 🙂

I haven't had that problem myself no, the only loot problem I had was that I would get loot pings with survivor sense in locations I cant physically reach, like behind cupboards that cant be opened or even hit open or in walls or under tables etc

Ah ok, thank you for the reply. It really throws off the momentum of the looting spree for me. All it needs is a wider area of proximity to trigger a loot, but all in all, playing this game gives me DL1 vibes, and I’m loving it! 🙌🏼

Also love the fact that most axes and hammers feel heavy as all hell yet the scythe feels quick, making it feel like choosing to be a bruiser who mows down armies while standing here as he realizes they were just like him, vs a quick dance of death mowing through groups. even feels a little like the scythe cleaves through less opponents before stopping

So, after the release of hotfix 1.2.1, my Dying Light: The Beast on Steam still shows version 1.2.0.
My friend, in the same region and with the same edition (Deluxe Upgrade), already received 1.2.1 normally.
As a result, we cannot play together: the game always shows “version mismatch”.

Steps already taken:

Full reinstallation of the game and DLCs.

Cleared Steam download cache.

Changed download region (tested several different servers).

Verified integrity of game files.

Disabled and re-enabled Steam Cloud.

Tested on a brand new Steam account (issue persists: still shows 1.2.0).

Direct Build ID comparison (identical), but in-game version displayed is different.

Hosting and inviting my friend.

if anything game needs FrameGen to operate the only excusable reason is that its pushing the boundaries of whats feasible with current technology. FrameGen is meant for people that cant run a game on settings they want but can achieve something not only playable but smooth to the preference of the player. This can be exploited for trying out new techniques or systems that would normally be way too performance heavy for anything modern, top of the line or not, which would be perfectly excusable because breakthroughs are everything. only excusable reason I can think of though

Gonna be honest here, yes crutching on frame gen and upscale is kindof crummy but at the same time, people shouldn't care unless its to ludicrous degrees. The same people that cry and whine that other people "only care about graphics" argue against framegen and upscaling because their reticle shifts to the side by 3px every few minutes which is "too distracting" and makes their game "unplayable".

Framegen is revolutionary, upscaling too. Companies focusing on making these as best they can with as much quality as possible are truthfully crafting the future.

People need to stop caring that 3 pixels on the top right of their screen squiggle when they flick their camera around at mach-fuck or that they cant play at 8k resolution on their 24 inch monitor that only supports 8k as a eyegrabbing gimmick because people think the gameplay makes such a huge difference at anything 4k and beyond.

I think framegen SHOULD be the default i think upscaling SHOULD crutch games. Sometimes companies just aren't good at optimizing or simply are just lazy. so what? if their game can look 90% of its native quality and is fun then there you have it. In my opinion I could care less about artifacts here and there. If the game is fun, the latency is tolerable, and its coherently smooth, its okay if not fine.
