Story I agree, I think the issue with the characters is mostly due to the choices system leading to inconsistent personalities and motivations, I wouldn't say the map is worse just different with some tweaks to make it less copy paste it could be good, overall just lots of small things adding up to it being worse such as weapon impacts, physics, etc
