Now what happens
2 more hours of debate
^ max 2 hours
Technically if the Majority and Minority leaders agree they can shorten it quite a bit I think but I'm not clear on the rules there
Mm, I'm sure the tweets are still available on my dashboard, among other places
The house will be the ones to drag it out. Just like with Arizona
graaaah
House takes an hour just to vote due to covid
welp
fuk
are they going to finish in this 1 session until done
maybe?
So Pennsylvania is the only state left that might be challenged?
like no retiring for the night
Pretty sure this is it
Unless they recess and come back tomorrow, someone might change their mind again by then
If penns is the only one then they can finish it after they deliberate
What happens if the vote wins?
then penns votes are removed from the count
It won't
they throw the votes out
Yes, but then what happe-
But if it does the votes are tossed
ah ok
They wouldn't count that state's vote.
If the yeas win it's not quite clear what is supposed to happen. The obvious answer is PAs votes are removed from the pool
So the total goes down by 20 and now you only need 260 to win
But unless there is a second set of electors for PA they could choose instead (there isn't) I don't know if they're allowed to do that
Trump's goal. Would have been to reject enough state votes so Biden doesn't get to the necessary threshold. And have congress take over on voting for President. Probably
what happens to all the other votes if that state's votes get thrown out, like the senators and reps or other local elections
Those elections are already over, the winners have been sworn in
This is only for President and Vice President
Not that, congress has enough people to elect trump. lol
Sure they do, in that scenario the House votes by state
After today though, do you really think they'd re-elect him?
They aren't willing to put on the show anymore for him but if they could actually help him that'd be another story
Plus it's the House, they're the children 😛
Well they are discussing impeachment / 25th so I don't think they would put trump in. Can they put pence as president?
The House has been continuing to object to all the states they planned, it was the Senate that pulled out (except for Hawley on PA)
fuck ill gladly take pence over trump, as scary as he is, least thankful hes showing maturity through this
Even if there were other contested states. I don't think any senators should sign on to the objection once the 270 is reached.
Nah, 270 isn't in the law anywhere, the language is majority
270 is implied though
Not a plurality though, it has to be a majority
this lady sounds like a robot
only in a tie does 270 not get hit, but if you 'throw out' completely, thats a diff topic
who was that
link to feed?
Yeah it's based on the number of total electoral votes that may be cast though I think.
538/2 is 269 so for a majority you need 1 more, 270
Members of Congress reconvene to count the electoral votes following a siege of the White House by supporters of President Trump.

his nose is hanging out lol...
If the votes don't get counted I don't think that changes the 538/269.
Pretty sure I looked this up after a previous discussion with you James and it was the ones that were cast, not the total that could be
Ah okay
i just cant understand how anyone genuinely thinks that people who have the right to vote, voting, is a problem
The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two Persons, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. And they shall make a List of all the Persons voted for, and of the Number of Votes for each; which List they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the Seat of the Government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate. The President of the Senate shall, in the Presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the Certificates, and the Votes shall then be counted. The Person having the greatest Number of Votes shall be the President, if such Number be a Majority of the whole Number of Electors appointed
The key word there is the last one
Number of electors appointed
There were 538 appointed electors though.
The person having the greatest number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President.
(12th Amendment)
hmm. Seems like a question that could be brought before Supreme Court if that language had to be used.
(not the case here)
I would think if Congress threw them out they weren't really appointed
Whole numbers of the appointed, not the number of those counted.
The states appoint electors.
Anyway, 12th says the House would just pick the winner from the top 3 anyway and it wouldn't be a by-state vote
Yeah, both houses vote
No they don't
Yeah they do, House picks the Presdent, Senate picks the VP.
I'm talking about the President 😛
were there really more votes than voters?
No
why do they keep saying that lol
They're corrupt or mentally incapable of holding office
Probably a believable idea since it's the highest percentage turnout in over 100 years.
And by that I mean not very nice.
Here comes the votes
A committee in the PA house looked at the total number of votes cast and the state's system that records who votes and saw that there were 200,000 more votes than people marked as having voted in the system
But the system wasn't up-to-date, Philadelphia was still inputting data
There are 2 million more registered voters than there were votes in PA
btw if I had to guess who didn't vote in the Senate for Arizona I'd guess Harris
I wasn't paying attention to see if they even called for her this time
The house really going to make us wait an hour
It'd be an hour if they started voting right now
If they take the full 2 hours for debate it'll be 3 hours total
Oh god they’re challenging PA too?
Yep
Pretty sure Harris is already replaced by Padilla.
Why would it take an hour to vote?
Was this previously announced? I didn’t know this was bingo night?
it took an hour to vote for arizona
They aren't all allowed in the room at the same time if it can be helped
So they come in to vote in groups
look at warren saying fuck social distancing
Ugh
maybe it'll be faster this time if they know their groups better
Warren?
Elizabeth Warren
Ah.. just like Pelosi.
lmao
I recognize who she was talking with but can't remember the name
Harris was a no
wait, kamala harris is there? or is it another harris
Rules for thee but not for me.
Didn’t they try a motion several months ago to try to hold votes and even debates remotely, but turtle blocked it?
I suspect she wanted/needed to talk to whoever that was and is too tired to stand and do it
And the next seat over was already taken
She left after they finished talking
Spoke too soon 😛
He was on the phone at one point
Looks like Harris isn't going to resign until just before inauguration day
I'm looking for a source for the information about the women shot. She apparently entered the "killbox" and was killed on sight.
Probably a lot of people wanting to talk to him (Sanders) and King now.
CNN had video of it and a witness
Did they really just call a recess for another day
Video showed her start to climb through the glass ito the chamber.
"person illegally enters restricted area, is shot"
Pence was on the other side of that glass
Yeah, the secret service used their form of pepper spray.
They yelled at her. She saw the guns.
No, he was arranging the pro forma sessions for until the 19th so the Senate can be considered in session the next 2 weeks without having to actually be there
Oh
That way the President can't do any recess appointments because they're still technically in session
But will they finish certifying tonight?
He assumes they will so got all that done now so they can just go home after leaving the joint session
And that'll be after they come back and finish the rest of the states?
so was that technically mitch giving trump a fuck off?
Yeah, they get to go grab a snack or go to their office and catch a nap or whatever until the House is ready then they'll go do the rest of the states
It sounds like it
They're telling Trump to fuck off so hard the rumor is his wife is going to resign from the Cabinet
Wait. Mitch called for it?
But doesn't she want to help invoke 25 in him?
Not specifically. But I think I heard a while back that they have stayed in session for many years now so that recess appointments never happen. Will see if I can find a source on that
Oh, if you mean the pro forma part they've been doing that since either Clinton or Bush 2
Yeah. It hit the news over the year of covid here. https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/493044-trump-threatens-to-adjourn-both-chambers-of-congress
Who’s this guy speaking in the house
Ah ok
(I don't know who most members of the House are)
I recognize the guy sitting behind the speaker
No yea Eric
He is on the Intelligence and Judiciary committees so got a lot of time on TV talking about Russia, Trump, impeachment, etc
You probably recognize him since he was embroiled in a scandal involving alleged Chinese spies recently.
Axios reported that Fang participated in fundraising for Swalwell's 2014 congressional election bid, met Swalwell at events, and helped place an intern inside Swalwell's congressional office; Swalwell swiftly ended ties with Fang after being warned by federal agents around 2015. Swalwell was not accused of any impropriety according to a U.S. intelligence official.
Gdi I thought my youtube tv sub had c span.
You can watch cspan on their website
Think it got a lot of coverage in December or November.
From memory it was a storm in a teacup though.
It got a lot of coverage if your sources of news regularly include the word "patriot" 😉
It was all over CNN.
It got like one story on ABC and MSNBC that I saw
Think WaPo too.
Oh hey the Qanon lady is talking now
By a lot I mean like 2 or 3 days to be crystal clear.
I saw posts on /r/conservative talking about it for a week or two, I think
Ah, I don't really use Reddit.
tomi is the keemstar of politics
I’m so embarrassed that she lives in my city
What's a keemstar
dont need to learn dont worry
And can I buy one?
u can buy keemstar in gfuel
and you will have your own keemstar
I feel like I walked into an inside joke
Keemstar is a meme of a human who does YouTube news
Fun!
hes some dickbag
"reports" on youtube "drama" and "news"
Doesn't Bush v Palm Beach County Canvassing Board say the state Supreme Courts are the final authority on election law in their state?
basically the tomi of youtube
Riveting. Because YouTube drama is so interesting.
Doesn't Bush v Palm Beach County Canvassing Board say the state Supreme Courts are the final authority on election law in their state?
These people keep pointing at the constitution saying state legislators have to make the rules
during a speech
The answer is it depends.
The Court was faced with two questions. First, did post-election court decisions in Florida violate the Due Process Clause of the U.S. Constitution or 3 U.S.C. § 5? Second, did the Florida Supreme Court violate Article II of the United States Constitution, which confers plenary power in the appointment of Electors on state legislatures, when the Florida Supreme Court allegedly changed the manner in which Florida's electoral votes were chosen?
he harassed/sent his goons on Helen, our previous community manager for MC, over her autism. Says everything you need to know about him.
Huh, apparently in that case Bush argued the state constitution can't overrule the state legislature on election matters
was this back during mc mondays?
i dunno
oh, ok
There are very specific circumstances where SCOTUS is the final say, but generally speaking it's the states Supreme Court.
only time i could think of he'd interact with minecraft
just he got brought up and she mentioned it on why hes banned from doing anything official w/ mc
Right but in this case the question was could a state Supreme Court overrule the state legislature on election rules considering Article II, Section 1, Clause 2
Bush argued that not only could they not but that the state constitution wasn't allowed to constraint the state legislature on election matters
Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.
I believe how it works is the legislature signs things into law, and the Supreme Court (state or US) cannot make a decision that conflicts with those laws legally except when the law itself is in conflict with the constitution of the state, or the US constitution.
But maybe I'm wrong.
Bush argued only the US constitution could be considered
So the state Supreme Court didn't have any part to play in election law cases
Maybe that's true for federal elections like congress/senate/executive?
I don't think it's accurate tbh.
It looks like the Supreme Court dodged the question
Also my recollection was Bush ended up winning under the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.
Maybe the written arguments make it more clear but the summary makes it sound like they tried really hard to punt it back to the Florida Supreme Court while also not clarifying if the Florida Supreme Court was allowed to have a say
i like how this guy is reminding us of the other issues we got going on
thank u sir
That sounds like the Florida Supreme court didn't make a decision and said SCOTUS you decide
Bush v Gore came like a month later
Bush v. Palm Beach County Canvassing Board, 531 U.S. 70 (2000), was a United States Supreme Court decision involving Florida voters during the 2000 presidential election. In this case, the U.S. Supreme Court requested clarification from the Florida Supreme Court regarding the decision it had made in Palm Beach County Canvassing Board v. Harris ...
Palm Beach County Canvassing Board v. Harris was before that it looks like
The really sad thing about how long the House is going to take for this is it's already over
Sad news on today's front: many classified documents were found and some were stolen by terrorists with no clearance
Senators left in a hurry, obviously
oof that's gonna be a headache for a lot of people
That said, because of the way classified information is treated I find it difficult to believe documents would be outside of a secure container
But it's too high up to really know
i did wonder if anything classified would've escaped
And there have been some reports on it
The Senate apparently wanted an hour break before telling the House they were done
i noticed that
also he falsely accused an elderly streamer on twitch of being a pedo
made him cry
just a huge manchild
Something classified would most definitely have been seen. Anything of real consequence, seems unlikely... unless they did a file dump, like flash drive in one of those open laptops (which is not beyond reason).
how is it going?
house is still taking arguments from members, waiting to vote internally then go back to joint session
house is still taking their turns at the mic. Idk how to find out how many are left. Each can only take a max of 5 minutes
With all taking max of 2 hours. Which... is entirely possible will happen
and senate?
theyre done
oh senate voted it down an hour ago
waiting for house kek
It's already dead
so houses debate is pointless beyond talk
They're just saying their piece
Yeah, unless something wacky happens
making people stay up super late after such a bad day
Insurrection act is a possible (very, very unlikely) avenue
I'm not familiar with your country's stuff, so I didn't know :P
But I mean, I also thought the senate would be impossible to break into yesterday
they dont have enough people to throw it
To be fair. Most american's don't know our "country's stuff"
So what the fuck do I know
well, if the police didnt just let them in or just showed 50% of the force of the BLM protests, they wouldnt have gotten in
A couple days after election day... was in a coffee shop and overheard an old group of men talking about how the winner of the election was not known yet... and how they didn't know how the elector college worked before then.
Most of the time it's inconsequential how it works
Just not in 2000 and not this time
We thinking like another hour or so for voting?
Definitely not this time
Even in 2000 it didn't go beyond the start of the EC
But here we are
Still trucking along
It's another hour once they start voting
They need to start first
Dear lord
I expect the house to take their full 2 hours. So plus voting time, definitely an hour left minimally before anything new happens
And then probably like an hour to get through the rest of the states
Go to bed, wake up tomorrow, and see what new horrors await you
What in the fresh hell will be going on tomorrow, I wonder? We'll see.
Today is December 37th for sure
Tomorrow, December 38th
take words down lol
my god these guys are about to brawl
finally something interesting
it seems like people are leaving?
mother fuckers trying to fight it seems
oh wow.
wowza
assuming people stood up to get between him
Yeah that's what it looked like
also nancy pelosi "you say that about me every day, deal with it"
Just threw his ass out
nose out alert
the house
Cnn isn't showing that rip
Congress reconvened Wednesday after a violent pro-Trump mob breached the U.S. Capitol, interrupting a joint session to count the Electoral College votes in President-elect Joe Biden’s win.
Follow our live updates on the story: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/live-update/pro-trump-mob-breaches-u-s-capitol
Counting electoral votes is a necessary an...
o he made it worse
You couldn't see anything anyway
The House controls the cameras in the room and they had one where you couldn't see the altercation
iirc its so they have rooms off of camera for them to go to discuss out of camera
lol holy fuck even chevron is tweeting about the US election
Hand slapped! lol
hell yeah he got yelled at
oh and got called out
My mans needs some hearing aids
Accurate
It's almost 2am. Why am I still awake for this lol
i hope trump refuses to delete and stays banned
Are the tweets just temporarily removed while he's suspended? Are they reinstated after suspension?
Nah. I hope he deletes. Gets unbanned. And then does something more to get account permanently banned.
they are force removed from view, and trump must go delete them himself to get unsuspended
Ah I see
they're mirrored on gab though
does trump post on parler?
no
quite surprised at that
if yall want, his full feed is here incl. the ones twitter hid https://gab.com/realdonaldtrump/
your own damn senators don't even know
Will reference my earlier comment about having a pulse is the only real requirement to hold those positions
haha thedonald.win host is threatening to shut them down if they dont censor the crazies
kek
warning that site is a cesspool of everything horrible
yeah found it earlier 🤢
If the Pennsylvania legislature thought the Secretary of State and Supreme Court were violating their authority on elections why didn't they bring a case to the US Supreme Court?
Why wouldn't they do anything to try to block the certification after the fact if they ran out of time for that?
I took a quick browse in that comment section
lol
Okay I'm going to bed. Too tired to be watching this all. It's a mess
yeah im going to bed too
If these Representatives really believed what they're saying why weren't they standing up for the majority of the states? It definitely wasn't just Arizona and Pennsylvania that did what they're complaining about
Texas did too, for example
Or the congress people objecting to their own state's election in which they were elected but not the pres. Alright.
The ones arguing Article II, Section 1, Clause 2 are okay on that front, it only says something about electors
The ones talking about 14th amendment or fraud are extra bullshit
This guy standing up here now, for example. I'm pretty sure Florida is one of the states that did what he is complaining about
Oh now he is in loonyville
I have no problem with the principle of wanting to work on investigating election fraud. The thought of successfully blocking a state's vote without the evidence on the subject is insane, to me. Just isn't the right time. Why wait to the literal last moment. crazy
They don't want to uncover fraud and try to stop it, they want Trump to win a second term
Sure. But the fraud is the front being put on though.
hehe, gotta teach the newbies
They don't know they have to stay up there when they delegate their time, they don't know how to request a roll call vote
The timer claims this will take 15 minutes but ha, guess they haven't updated it for this year
There are some days, when I would think it grand to be a cog in forming public policy (not the face as an elected official). Then others when I hate everything about government and have no desire to be part of it ever even tangentially.
Honestly, the whole gerrymandering, voter id, voter deregistration, polling station closures, voter mailbox removals, and fake mailboxes.. and everything else is already enough to consider the elections rigged. But excluding all that, election fraud is likely if for no other reason than the amount of on-street interviews of Republican voters bragging about voting in two districts / two states.
Technically that's voter fraud
But yeah, so far all the voter fraud I've seen has been Trump voters
Except maybe one case in Texas that didn't even get to an actual vote
Jeez this idiot
Can someone explain how this is more than twitch just taking a hard side and not wanting to associate with a trump supporter?
Seeing the replay on cspan of the guy getting his ass tossed out of the chamber?
of which they no doubt have millions on their platform
oh its about encouraging violence
I just wake up, i got an alert that 5 ppl died? Wtf happened while I was asleep? The situation looked under control, lol
Did it go up to 5?
They are still counting votes in the house lol
Last I saw 3 basically collapsed from heart attacks, strokes, or whatever and one was shot
Turns out Trump supporters seem to trend toward unhealthy and/or old, I guess
German police did shut down a pro trump demo in rammstein cause they didn't wear masks 😂
40 ppl or so, all gonna get fined
Oh trump got temp banned on Twitter?
Finally
so I think what took place in the US cap today is def a big deal, but I also think, like all big deals in the super-fast paced news cycle, in a few weeks, it won't be a thing anymore. Just like trump's impeachment was. feels like it was 10 years ago and no one really talks about it
It's a air force base in germany, idk how many americans even are there sweepy
I don't think such an attack on your democracy should be swept under the carpet
53k americans at ramstien
But that's just some foreigner saying
everyone knew the impeachment wouldn't result in him getting the boot
it was non news basically
not sure, how it would be considered "sweeping it under the carpet" I think people will just move on to other things
Trump will be gone one way or another in like 2 weeks
As predicted though. Since there was no real consequences. Nothing to deter future behavior. Just reinforces the behavior.
also, sweeping it under the carpet would kinda imply that people didn't know about it in the first place
well people died.
pretty serious consequence
also, I totally love how they got right back to verifying the election.
so this "attack on democracy" didn't really do anything to stop that except push it back a few hours
I was referring to the impeachment. On there not being consequences
oh, my b
no problem. Not that this will be any different.
I don't understand banning symbols because some nut job used it for a bad purpose
I'm going to miss this song on the 3am streams though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEAvDQ6AriU
Oh and MM, idk how your history classes work, but this would be talked about in our history and politics classes in school, now and in the future
In fact, it will be talked about even tho it didn't happen here
oh sure, history classes are different
but some of the rhetoric i've seen that describes what happened is a little over the top (a lot, and as usual)
calling this a coup, or civil war
the government didn't stop functioning
Oh twitch actually removed pogchamp and wants to redesign an emote with the community
I mean... what would have happened if they didn't get Congress out of the capitol?
you can ask what if questions all day
I would look at the retoric used by your sitting president. It's a warning to all other countries that if you don't fight these words, they will become actions
America didn't fight these words.
Idk if I'd call it a full on coup, but it's the closest I ever want to see us be to one
It's definitely beyond rioting and protesting
well that statement is kinda odd. The closest anything ever is to a coup is usually always the closest you want it to be
I'm meaning that we shouldn't have even gotten to this point in this country
18 U.S. Code § 2384 - Seditious conspiracy: If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.
The fact we've come this far is insane
but you can think about that in two ways
people willing to act is a good thing
just not these people
twitch is keeping pog
While you're at it you can also remove pepe kashike
Dialy reminder that facebook is still the most evil company on earth
We've made the decision to remove the PogChamp emote following statements from the face of the emote encouraging further violence after what took place in the Capitol today.
23319
174099
(thread)
Did they remove the pog image too?
Pog is BTTV
And is just a zoomed in PogChamp, right?
wow I actually thought this was a joke
Facebook had a statement for advertiser before their employees

At first I was like "good, they shut down the stop the steal threads" then I realized it meant they shut down the employees' threads
Let's save the Pepe discussion for another time
This is fun
One of the guys in that capitol had a champ auschwitz hoodie
This is fine.jpeg
@opal moat
ofc, the government never lets a crisis go to waste, so I'm sure that somewhere down the line this will be used to infrine on more civil liberties... I wonder if the ACLU will say anything about that... 🤷♂️
Your government incited this crisis, just fyi
does it matter?
Unfortunately. We know
I mean I guess if you're going to remove a pogchanp emote it'd make sense to remove pepe lol
I didn't even know who the pogchanp guy was until today
It's also pretty much the only reason anyone knows who he is at this point
People wonder "who is the guy in this emote?" and find him
I don't really care about emotes but if we remove that there's no reason to keep pepe stuff
Pepe stuff is not the same as the pogchamp emotes
You do need to recognize that this is fundamentally different
I think this falls under the category of what I was saying before
the "creator" of pepe didn't do anything
but just cause some people took it and did whatever with it, shouldn't be a reason to get rid of it
Meh, I don't really care either way, I think pepe emotes are kinda ugly lol
white supremacists also use the word "The" should we stop saying that too?
arguably incited violence
Tell that to the Buddhists who lost 卐
yeah but that's quite an extreme case
I mean, the alt-right are almost literally nazis
Isn't that Hinduism?
Man, walking around bali/indonesia as a german was so weird, with swastikas left and right.
There are also two versions, like mirrored
Nazism always stealing symbols smh
It's actually pretty fun. There is a case to be made that the extreme right lacks the creativity to create their own symbols
Same with nordic mythology
I'd believe it
btw this is already over
Joe won officially
yeah. For those not watching. The 270 threshold was reached
Claps all around
and then this idiot stands
?
Wisconsin had objected. But the senator who would have objected on it - had withdrawn. So didn't have both a representative and senator
I like how these objections were only voted for by like 6 ppl
fair question
Just shows how much of the support trump had left, just vanished
Now only the extremists are left
And those are dangerous
Man, considering we have an election here this year too, and we have a far right wing with almost double digits percentage, i sure hope this shit doesn't happen here
I would say some that there are those that are extremist only in word are left in large numbers still. In action, I would expect few.
But if anything, this day showed that those words will become actions. You have to fight these words, because else you get confronted with actions
The words are complicit in the actions. I would hesitate that the words become actions.
If these words are played down, the line gets moved more right all the time
Until something that was unthinkable becomes reality
^ Don't get me wrong. Everything about this is wrong. Just on an individual basis. This is how they justify they are right.
See if you can spot why comparing these two images and complaining about stolen votes is a silly idea
?
Trump released a statement
I do think it's fair to challenge some results, that's their right. But, innocent until found guilty, it's the retoric that's important. You can say "hey, this sounds weird, let's get this checked", or you can say "there have been massive election fraud, this eelction was stolen!". And, you also should just let it be if you don't have anything to back up your claims and you got proven wrong
Haven't found it in text form yet. They read it out loud though
You also have to accept that due to time constraints your investigation is going to have to mostly happen and conclude after the person has already been sworn in to office
You have to rely on other tools to eject them if it turns out they did cheat
Unless it's something super obvious
A lot of their claims are clown car, some are vague unprovable nonsense, and some are things you'll have to try to force the Supreme Court to consider to get an answer
And it'd be the kind of Supreme Court case that takes a year
Where? Find it?
dan scabino or whatever his name is put it out for Trump
Statement by President Donald J. Trump on the Electoral Certification:
“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th. I have always said we would continue our...
...fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”
Wow that almost sounds sane
Yeah. That would be it likely.
Since he doesn't have a platform, gotta go through others.
Doubt he wrote it, probably approved it though
If you have fun with it, do fight it in courts, but don't try to interfere with the process anymore
Trump's Twitter suspension ends in about 3 hours. I think it's safe to assume he's taken this time to reflect on his behavior and has learned his lesson.

On January 20, 2017, the day of Trump's inauguration, police kettled 217 anti-Trump protesters in the freezing cold and arrested them after sixteen hours.
Prosecutors then tried to put them in prison for 70+ years, on the accusation that all of them collectively broke a window.
2663
6053
Dragged it out for 18 months
Kept making them travel back to DC to deal with it
Just to drop it in the end
THeR Is VIoLENce oN BoTh SiDEs
that tweet made it sound way less than that news report tho
Twenty-one of the people arrested that day have pleaded guilty to charges related to violent protest, including one to felony offenses.
They fucked with 200 people for a while and 38 of them for 18 months when they weren't a part of those folks
Some people in the area did something wrong so they kettled them all together and arrested every one of them
The guy with the felony was done with all this bullshit faster than those final 38 people, he got out of prison in October 2017
that is wrong but the accusation doesn't seem to be that they all collectively broke the window
They were trying to charge them with taking part in the riot
Which is basically a kind of conspiracy charge that makes them all liable for what any of them did
Apparently 9 of them were journalists?
Anyway, the point of all of this is why did pretty much all of the people who were in the capitol building get to walk back to their hotel today?
In 2017 they were willing to round up everyone who just happened to be in the area and charge them with "felony rioting"
Just showed you'll get Twitter followers, a cookie, and a juicebox for sacking the capitol but a felony for breaking a storefront window
(whops, that was a joke account!)
I do wonder if people will look at the us government at say... well they handled Covid poorly, they are handling distribution poorly, they do so many things poorly... perhaps, perhaps we shouldn’t give them so much power cause they seem to do everything poorly.
It’s always, “but when my side is in charge it’ll be good”.
But that isn’t true either. When Rs had house, senate, and White House, they couldn’t pass their health care reform.
If people never, ever, want another Trump-like character again, and I hope they dont want one, they shouldn’t place so much importance on the presidency.
But since the scope of executive power has done nothing except expand, I don’t see that happening.
A bad actor, can’t cause as much harm if they have less power. 🤷
And then there are people who say “But the other side will never be able to be in power again”... and people said that exact thing when Trump upset the 2016 election. “It was the end of the Democratic Party.” No it wasn’t, clearly.
That's one possible conclusion, I would disagree with it tho
Yes, the president has too much power, no, the solution isn't to remove that power from the gov
If your goal is to never let your political opponents hold power, isn’t that fascist? Now, you can achieve that goal by simply implementing better policies and that’s all well and good, but you shouldn’t enact policies specifically designed to drown out opposition.
Instead, the gov should be a proper coalition of multiple parties and ministers of multiple parties, and the parliment needs more power (it's the senate and house for you guys I guess?)
So that you try to eliminate the risk of one person going bad
Yes, the US places much more power on the executive than parliamentary systems.
It didn’t originally. A long time ago, Presidents weren’t nearly as influential in domestic politics.
But I think the regulatory state contributes a great deal to the increase in executive power. Pres appoints a director of an agency that makes rules and regs that congress doesn’t have to approve
Both parties are suffering from large amounts of infighting that it wouldn't be surprising if we woke up one day both of them having had a huge split
Dramatically weakens the legislature
Just to give you an example, I live in a country where "the other side" (tm) was in power the last 16 years. Yet I don't have fundameltal issues about the state of our country. Sure, there are a heap of issues I wish they would handle differently, but it's not a shit show, our system works
But, outside of trump being a huge ass baby, he was defo a refreshing character in some ways
Be interesting to see what comes out of CNN being sold and shit with him gone
Like, you can defo fault the man, quite easily, but the way I see it was trump was basically a huge massive fuck you to the political system
Comedy shows sure had fun
Yeah, Trump totally was. He trashed that at the end tho.
I mean, I live in a country where like the US, the political system is heavily stagnent bar the odd childrens yard fight, etc
I’m a big fan of a bunch of his policies, I really am not a fan of his personality or how he conducts himself.
Government could be doing a ton of shit to improve the lives of people, but, we got cash flying out the wazoo to friends of friends of PMs for huge ass contracts which break down in varying dozens of ways
Well, you guys spend the last year's scrambling to leave the EU for reasons nobody really understands
Well, the EU fucked you
The EU has literally turned from a pact to try to keep nations together into a system which on its own has more power than a single country under it's wraps
We had some niceities like being able to not accept some of the EUs laws into our own
That's is the idea of the EU, yes. If you wanna have power against the US and china, you gotta form a single entity
But, the EU's power is scary, especially when you look at the stuff going through there about aspects relating to like copyright, etc
The only tool voters have to fight against government waste, is to vote no on taxes. I’m pretty much against any tax increase ever for anyone. The government has plenty of money, they are just so wasteful with it. The US DoD is like the most financially wasteful entity on the planet.
But, the EU won't stand up to shit
Where is EUs call against the terrorism that keeps hitting france?
Or, is that not an EU matter?
Well, could it do more? Yes. Does it need reforms? Yes. Is the solution to get rid of the EU? Hell no
Oh I haven’t heard anything recently about the stuff in France. I know a while back, some people were hating on France for protecting free speech.
What do you expect the EU to do? Invade turkey?
EU doesn't even have to power to do that
They did
But turkey is dangerous, since they also are basically blackmailing us
Since they are basically dealing with most of the refugees of the warzones in the middle east
The attacks in France & Austria show we need to fight relentlessly against terrorism. We will intensify our cooperation. We are stronger together.
With @EmmanuelMacron,
@sebastiankurz, Chancellor Merkel, @markrutte & @eucopresident we are discussing how to step up our response

The EU is speaking up about this
Who here has hopes on the EU actually doing something to adress the issue rather than just "we're in talks"
The “we’re in talks”, “that is a good discussion to have”, “we are looking into”, etc. classic
“I’m looking forward to discuss...”
I mean, that to me is a fair chunk of the reason why people flocked behind trump
Yeah, it’s a big reason.
Politicians words mean jack shit to a fair majority of people
The state of journalism only helps those politicians too.
People will even still vote for their own parties after stating for years "yea, they care about us when it's time to vote and then don't do shit for us"
The issue is, they don't have power, the EU doesn't have power to do much
What would you want them to do here?
They don't have much power but will often throw a massive bitch fit at contries which refuse to do stuff like take in war refuges, etc
Well yes, the refugee problem is a EU problem and every member state should help tackle it
and how do we prevent the fallout in our own contries from accepting those people?
Fallout?
The social implications of accepting people into your country who don't understand the language/culture, how do you integrate them into society?
I agree that we also need to work on prevention, that's part of the solution
Can’t possible be any fallout from accepting thousands of random people into your country.
You teach em?
The security implications of pulling people into the country with 0 documentation
and in the meantime of teaching them?
Idk about you, but in germany we are happy for additional workforce, cause we lacking
How do you house thousands of people when we're already struggling with our own domestic capability to house the homeless, including vets, etc
Someone would call them “re-education camps” and it’d be over
Ah yes, because volunteery german courses are reeducation camps
Pls
I agree that the whole refugee situation is pretty fucked up and needs to be tackled on different levels. But germany integrated literally millions in 2015 and we doing just fine
Well they can’t be voluntary if you are trying to teach all the people that come into the country? And it’s not just the language. cat mentioned several other things too.
They want to be teached. They want to live here, they want to work here, they want to have a actual life again
They know for that they gonna have to learn new stuff
and contries like sweden which have areas where swedes are literally unsafe to walk around due to the immigrant population, etc
Has any of you ever talked to a refugee?
Here, we invited ppl into school to talk to them, to understand them
Cool, and there is a good high percent of people coming in who are intent on moving on in their lives, the issue is how do we keep our contries safe when allowing thousands of undocumented people into the country?
One of those was just a few years older than i was back then, he's some syria, just finished uni. One day, he woke up because a tank destroyed half of his room, he was basically sitting in a bed, with half his flat gone
Well, you start by giving them documents. If they wanna have asylum, the get registered and stuff
sweeeerrve...
And you got police and stuff to ensure security, don't you?
lolno
Our police force is dying
Our security agencies are basically usless against people who have 0 history at all
That AT&T bomber
Apparently the FBI got a call like 7 months or something ago from an ex about how her ex was creating bombs in his garage/RV
The manchester bombing from a few years back, the person who did it was already on the radar, etc
Well, that sounds like a agency problem to me then, not a refugee problem
Well if you’ve got a problem with the police force, why compound it by adding a bunch of undocumented people on top of it?
refugee problem ontop of the fact our security angencies are literally moronic and nobody will take action to deal with them
Like, a literal common theme in many of these huge ass attacks and stupid shit is that the security agencies have had information on this for litearlly months or even years
Let's them die in the Mediterranean, build up walls around turkey and shoot anybody trying to cross?
I have no idea, but clearly we need to start solving our own issues before trying to solve the worlds
Do we let them rot in moria and stuff, let greece handle it?
I got no idea what the solution is, I'm not a politician nor am I aware of the entire situation and implications, but, what do we do, sit around waiting for the EU to decide what to do after years and years of ongoing issues?
The EU is a democratic institution, partly directly elected by you, partly formed of representatives of your gov
Why shouldn't they decide?
Because the majority of people electing others know jack shit about who/what they're electing
To me it looks like they are best fit to understand the big picture
and right now as we stand on that system, god knows what the fuck is gonna have happened in 10 years
Ok, so ppl don't know how to vote, let's go for a dictatorship everywhere then
All I feel is that the people that others elect stand for jack shit on solving issues
but, hey, one of our PMs mates earned a couple thousand or like a million on a covid app which we never even got to saw
and another one of our PMs mate spent millions rolling out a track and trace system which stalled one day because it was a fucking excel document
Wow trashing excel...
Well, it's on the ppl to hold those idiots responsible for their actions
But these are individual doing bullshit, not nessasarily the system being bullshit
The system is bullshit because we know they're doing bullshit, have been doing bullshit for years, and it's basically either you re-elect them or throw them over to somebody else who has a 50:50 chance of standing for your own ideals
And your proposed solution is:
Why do you have to have a solution if you are pointing out a problem?
Because if you can't make suggestions, nothing is going anywhere
We can all agree on that gov wasting money on a app that doesn't work is shitty
That's not controversial or anything
I mean, I'm a randomer on the internet, my suggestions mean jack shit especially as I'm not aware of the entire implications, but, we know that our system is fucked and we know that the people we're pushed to elect are wankers at best and will often never be thrown out due to shitty behavior due to how the entire system works as a whole
Which is why trump was a breath of fresh air to some as he was a huge massive fuck you to the entire system
You are pushed to elect ppl? How so?
You basically have 2 choices
Can't you vote for whatever you want?
Once again, you basically have 2 choices
We still speaking about the UK?
Applies to the US and the UK system essentially
It’s tribalism. My side is right no matter what simply because they have this R label, that side is bad no matter what because they have this D label.
In the UK, you basically have two parties, the tories and the labour party
Ah I just saw that your two major parties both have 40%, how does this work gov wise, does one party get to decide or do you form coalitions?
neither party stands for shite, and both parties make a huge part of their election campaigns on promises which they know they couldn't actually afford
e.g. labour was hoping for a massive home run in the last election as they tried to appeal to uni students with free uni, etc
No one ever lost votes saying I’m gonna give you more stuff.
a few weeks after they basically came out and stated that they couldn't have afforded that anyways
majority leads
The first step to holding parties accountable is to empower smaller parties, give ppl an alternative to vote for
Absolute or relative majority tho cat?
they form coalitions if they can't hit the mark, and basically, they gotta appeal to the queen to be able to form a coalition and basically prove that they can do stuff
depends
What’s a relative majority? A plurality?
Take last election, no party crossed the mark
so, the tories basically paid off some welsh party I think it was to take them over the mark under a stance of "plz agree with us"
42%, 40%, 10%, 8%, party 42% has a relative majority, party 42% and 8% together have a absolute majority
They then had to go to the queen to convince her that they had the stability to lead as a coalition, if the queen rejected that, afaik, labour could have had their own stab at it
I don’t think a “relative majority” is a thing. Pretty sure that’s just called a plurality. I think majority means >50%
But doesn’t matter, I get what you meant
Maybe these words work different in english 🤷♂️
(bearing in mind, people where pissed at the coalition as the tories basically flung a metric fuckton of cash at that party to agree with them)
Ok, new topic. Did anyone see that guy who lead the prayer to open the new session of the us congress? Ended the prayer with “Amen and Awomen”
I never saw it but I heard about it
Religion, am out, lol
Then the bee drops this gem.
https://babylonbee.com/news/biden-announces-nationwide-mask-mandate-and-womandate
WASHINGTON, D.C. - In light of recent events, Biden has updated his COVID plan to include not just a mask mandate, but a mask womandate as well. In a prepared statement given to his nurse and posted on Twitter, the completely legitimate and unquestioned president-elect apologized for the sexist language in his plan.'Listen folks-- we all make mi...
Amen has literally nothing to do with men. It’s Hebrew for like “so be it” or smth.
Doesn’t have anything to do w/religion really.
That's article is, it's not even funny, it's too... surreal
I was busting up when I read it the first time.
I saw “folx” for the first time the other day, what’s up with that one?
You sure you are not just getting trolled?
With folx? Idk possibly
No the amen and awomen shit
No there’s a video. Two second
even and of itself, fuck that and fuck him
And I mean, i would start at the point that prayers shouldn't be a part of gov congress whatever thing
In germany it would be a minute of silence and you can do whatever the fuck you want in that
USA is a christian nation
But no public prayer for one religion
Dude responded to it. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jan/05/a-woman-prayer-emanuel-cleaver-amen-critics
I don't care what relegion the nation has, but the gov shouldn't have a religion
Religion has no place in politics
It doesn’t. And it wasn’t a Christian prayer
That article said it was a joke
"Cleaver said he “concluded with a lighthearted pun in recognition of the record number of women who will be representing the American people in Congress during this term as well as in recognition of the first female chaplain of the House of Representatives whose service commenced this week”."
Yea, I mean, I'm against religion in politics, but, I mean, the US ain't the only place like that, and, well, better to have some form of moral compass than none
I mean, tensions are high af
That's basically like spitting on the bible to some
I mean, if you wanna spend time arguing over a joke (dum or not), go ahead
jokes are just jokes until they offend your feelings.
Well I think the bigger thing is like womxn folx, herstory, etc.
I'm just annoyed at the principle of it all
I was hearing that some of the woke brigade where apparently upset that latino people weren't taking the latinx assignment
Yeah, something like 2% of Latinos use the x...
3%
Yeah, that’s what it is. Bullshit. People signaling their “enlightenment” by using made up words
and then throwing every -ism possible when you refuse to pick up that BS

I like Bill Maher, and this is one of his greats, IMO.
You had the progressives like AOC vs the "regular" dems
Kinda funny watching the spats between the two sides
The classical liberals. Who are all like over 40.
We've made the decision to remove the PogChamp emote following statements from the face of the emote encouraging further violence after what took place in the Capitol today.

WHAT
NO POGCHAMP
WHAT
The guy whose face they used has been encouraging violence
:(
Not sure if you're joking here or not, but I want to respond for the benefit of non-American folks or Americans who didn't have a good history teacher.
"As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion" - Treaty of Tripoli, 1797
And, you can pull various quotes from the founding fathers explaining how it very much is not. The Declaration of Independence references, if anything, a Deist god rather than a Christian one.
yeah just a heavily filled with christians and allows christian things to invade elements of the government such as "opening prayer" and "swear on the bible" sadly
never meant it by the book but by the general culture, however much it's thankfully sloooowly disappearing
^^
actually
when I would be elected in the US
and I am not christian
would you force me to swear on the bible?
wouldn't that be an attack on me freedom of religion?
that is actually optional that all politicians just choose to do, no where is that an actual requirement.
ah ok
but if I wouldnt do it, for sure I would get headlines and interviews and I would have to explain myself
is there a satanic bible?
of course
Yeah for one, you don't have to swear on a book, and two if you do swear on a book, it can be any book you want. There's a really funny clip from Jake Tapper's show where a Roy Moore (remember that guy) aid is dumbfounded when informed of this.
That clip is beautiful.
CNN's Jakes Tapper fact checks Roy Moore campaign spokesman Ted Crockett, who inaccurately claimed that a Christian Bible must, by law, be used when being sworn into office.
Please watch and enjoy
it's fucking great
that dead stare
man remember the days of Roy Moore? that feels like it was 30 years ago
it is indeed beautiful.
A state narrowly avoiding electing a pedophile feels like decades ago but it's only two years
same issue as the UK, one party takes all, basically
its the system that is broken that leads to two big parties
New parties spin up here and there, many lie on the sidelines, but, it would take a party to do some huuuuuuuugeeee massive fuck-up to cause a stir to elect anything other than one of the two leading parties, otherwise, voting for anything else is considered a wasted vote socially to the party who reaaaallly needs your votes as the other guy bad
with it being sucha 50/50 split, no 3rd party has a chance at winning, and trying to give your vote to a 3rd party is a "protest vote" and is essentially thrown away, so theyll never grow to the chance to even win due to that
only way for a protest vote to be viable is if both options are equal and you genuinely dont care who wins..... gl with that ever happening lol
or if you genuinely believe one side cant lose
but Trump v Hilary has shown that isnt happening either
so until we get Ranked Choice Voting, 3rd party cant happen
we just need RCV
I mean, the whole protest vote vs wasted vote is generally a "this is not the time to waste your vote, vote for X, do it next time!"
dont some european countries have RCV?
its such a nice system, i dont know why it isnt happening ._.
i guess due to the complexity itll add to tabulation
Like, I live in a labour place, in part due to a loooooong fued we have over up in the north with the tory party, so, if I woulda voted tory it woulda basically been a wasted vote down here 😄
(Our labour mayor actually just resigned after he was brought in on a blackmailing investigation, soooo)
the 50/50 isnt the issue. in a normal gov, the 50/50 situation is where the small parties become powerful, cause you need 50%, which non of the two big parties have. so they need to form a coalition with a small party.
but in the US, that doesnt happen, cause you have a "the winner takes it all" system. where everything that isnt the majority in a sector, gets thrown out, making small parties impossible pretty much
Looks like a functional democracy to me

Meanwhile in america
Well, no immediate government, but a coalition can be formed
I'd assume that at least some forethought is put into coalition building by the parties before elections though?
best to just google new phrases first before asking discord lol, prob find better explanation online than what i can give
incase you missed it i said the full name 2 messages above it, Ranked Choice Voting
your first mistake is using DDG
such a useless engine lol
no its not lol
the results are absolute trash
"rcv" even gave me the correct result as result 2 on google
under incognito even
but i want google to personalize results for me
helps give me what i want
I swear if I ever want to become dictator I won't even bother with people like Putin, Erdogan or Kim Jong Un. I'll ask the Republicans for their secret of mass brain washing to the level of denying that grass is green
its not republicans, its specifically trump, republicans just fell in line out of fear of losing re-election if they went against him
their position sucks, they did make one truthful statement last night, in that their constituents are upset and want them to do something. that is a true detail, just those constituents are brainwashed
Just gotta say though, would rather have difficulty building a government than what we have here in the UK where every single government we've had for the last 20 years* has received a majority without actually receiving a majority of votes.
1983 - 42.4% popular vote - 61.10% seats
1987 - 42.2% popular vote - 57.85% seats
1992 - 41.9% popular vote - 51.69% seats
1997 - 43.2% popular vote - 63.40% seats
2001 - 40.7% popular vote - 62.50% seats
2005 - 35.2% popular vote - 55.20% seats
2010 - 59.1% popular vote - 55.90% seats (coalition)
2015 - 36.8% popular vote - 50.80% seats
2017 - 43.2% popular vote - 50.30% seats (CaS)
2019 - 43.6% popular vote - 56.20% seats
This probably goes back even further but could only be bothered to check the last 10 elections.
[*] The only outlier to the majority means majority rule is the coalition, but even then the 59.1% of the popular vote the coalition received only received 0.50% more seats than the 35.2% popular vote majority before it.
It's like with the Change UK MPs.. for as silly and idealistic as they were, they weren't "replaced at the ballot box" or "held to account." Most of them were replaced by minority winners.
Same thing happened with Brexit, the only votes that actually show popular support for Brexit was the referendum and maybe the 2017 election, though that's a bit iffy. Every other democratic exercise that became pseudo-second referendums shows a majority support of remain parties or confirmatory referendum parties. The council elections, the European Parliament elections, and the 2019 General Election, etc. But because of the system we have, the Conservatives not only won but they won a rather sweeping majority. So now they get to wave about their "mandate" while actually having a minority of the British people behind them.
That culture of keeping people stupid so they stay in line goes back decades
Grade A mass brainwashing over decades
The tendencies that Trump brought out of people didn't just appear out of no where
They were always there

That was an aide iirc, not a rioter
context of the text sounds like its not
An aid would likely have not taken pictures of possibly sensitive/classified emails
and then shared them on twitter
or say "hey im in her office, they left emails up"
also he called them revolutionaries
Hmm, some people in the Twitter comments say he was press
either way, it's been given to the FBI, so they'll decide what to do with it
looked him up
I don't know if I'd count him as a journalist although I guess he is close enough
he's a right-wing "reporter" for the glenn beck-owned media outlet BlazeTV
To the extremely dishonest slanderers
I have a federal congressional press license and police did not have a problem with me reporting on the events
How else do you think I wasn’t arrested & was allowed to leave / cross police lines?
Some of you guys don’t get how this works

that's not reporting on the events, that's breaking into a federal building and threatening this country's national security. have fun with the fbi, dipshit.
Eh, HuffPost and ITV at least had reporters and camera crews follow the people through the building too
Well I know for a fact that taking pictures of the house speaker’s emails and posting them on Twitter isn’t “reporting”
wut
Sure it is. So long as he didn't touch the computer or tell anyone to set it up so he could (saying something like "lean back so I can get a photo" is fine)
It's probably not very responsible but maybe he looked at that email and decided it was harmless so he could post it to show just how crazy things were
you can blur the contents
Oh thanks, I was starting to think positively that republican supporters were going to condemn these acts. Glad to be back to pessimism.
im sure sharing classified info has to be illegal, regardless of "it doesnt look sensitive", and whistle blower protections shouldnt apply here
Matt Gaetz got up in the House after they came back and said it was all antifa infiltrators trying to make Trump supporters look bad

iirc "national security" issues overrule them
how do you think trumps calls getting leaked isnt getting arrested lol
No one can figure out who it is
Otherwise they'd have to go in to witness protection or something 😛
trump ban on facebook extends for at least the next 14 days
Extends indefinitely then
After the 20th his first post as a citizen will almost certainly get him banned
Huh I didn't think Trump had another tweet after his video yesterday but his last two tweets are marked as deleted

sounds like an echo chamber
it is
jesus
do we trust alt right devs to keep our SSNs safe

having an SSN requirement must be there to just filter out people with sufficient IQ
fbi will sure like that requirement
Nonsense, nossr! Lots of different opinions. Take over the government, take over the government and lock up all the democrats, take over the government and lock up all the black people...
if they actually wanna trace these idiots down, it will be exceptionally easy
inb4 haveIbeenpwned starts listing SSNs
parler is part mercer owned, so there's some overlap in views there
well i guess the national guard is now on a tour of the united states for 30 days, lol, really sad when you think about that
rather, a tour of D.C.
not official terms, that's just my silly take on it all
currently unfriending a shitton of people on facebook who are doing the "oh wow so u care that the capitol had a riot and not all the other riots around the country stupid libs"
literally. just not going to deal with it today.
what about tmorrow? 🤔
sometimes i turn on fox when watching the news. i know watching cable news is problematic in the first place, but, without fail, every time i switched it to fox just to see what they were talking about, they were trying to draw some far fetched false equivalency between this riot and the BLM protests. it's unbelievable.
They have some things in common but the targets and the scale are different
Scale isn't really the right word, I mean the percentage of people taking part who were doing illegal things
One was against police brutality, the other was against democracy
also, from what i could see, most people rioting during the protests in the summer were opportunists rather than protestors. one business where i live got lit on fire and they found that the arsonist was a white guy with ties to anarchist groups not a blm protestor.
Eh, there was a lot of that and sometimes they were the ones that got things started before everyone joined but most of it wasn't that
you don't think torching a police department is terrorism?
?
where did this come from?
talking about the summer lol
Also I'm pretty sure the police station was actually one shown to be started by some accelerationist assholes
And not BLM folks
The BLM folks cheered it on though
man there are so many terms nowadays
accelerationists are the people who think a war is coming so want to make it happen now
i heard about those boogaloo dickheads
Folks smashing and robbing Target though? Locals
Boogaloos also used the BLM protests to murder some cops
That was in LA iirc
id never heard the term accelerationist, that's a good one
People destroying the world because they think it'll trigger the End Times would fall under that category too, I suppose
did they go back to joint session to finish counting yet? the cspan stream ends in the middle of the house debating it
🙄
I watched the cspan live stream straight through the House voting and then bringing the Senate back in and wrapping things up
If their videos are fucked that's weird
yeah their video ends middle of house debating
i had to sleep so couldnt stay up and watch
lol im weak
maybe YT is processing or smth
wait no, looks like it got split off into a separate video i guess
domestic terrorist storms after the vice president of the united states, and people are upset she gets shot
ok, so say someone rushes at trump, should they let them through and not shoot?
or is this a "pence didnt help us, hes now an enemy, dont care for his security"...
well I'd bet you'd get a lot of people saying, nah, just let em
We've always been at war with Eurasia.
Itll be like the area 51 raid plans
Neo nazis take flank
Maga charge the front
Karens driving hummers take the charge
I'll take "things people wouldn't be saying if she were black" for $200, Alex
biden was supposed to talk 10 mins ago or smth
