Structural (duck) typing vs nominal typing
nominal typing a type is a unique thing, you have to be exactly it to match, structural typing anything that matches the shape of the type, no matter how it was created, matches
Most languages use nominal typing
In a structural type system the names of types are just for your benefit, they don't matter to the type checker
In nominal typing the name is (more or less) all that matters

Structural typing makes some things a PITA to do, like type ScreenPixels = number; and type LogicalPixels = number; are the same type which you really don't want to do if you're trying to handle HiDPI scaling 😄
