Now the question is if this is fulfilled in (B).
We have two forces: The vertical gravitational force and the horizontal force because of air friction. In (B) these forces act equally in every point of the cable (the cable looks the same in every point). To get the force in a specific point, you have to sum up (integrate) all these forces up to the specific point. Now you simple see that both forces (vertical and horizontal) increase linearly from bottom to top (starting at zero force on the bottom). This means the force always points towards the same direction (the force also increases from bottom to top, but that's irrelevant). This means that if the cable is in configuration (B) and has the correct angle (same as the force), this will be the steady state.

A side effect of lights being so inefficient before was that they just naturally cleared snow and ice buildup
Now they have to put a heater in them and either have it running all the time so there is no efficiency improvement or put some kind of logic in for when to turn it on which makes the thing more complicated

I agree that some parts of that description are... poorly worded to put it nicely, but I don't think the author is intentionally trying to mislead people - they just made a Skript version of an already existing plugin and released it.
