Is there a way to setup a PTP VPN from my house and have it not be shit so I can open ports on my home network without actually opening them publicly?

#

I might have to just send out a dedi for colocation might be better.

golden gust
#

I mean, zerotier?

#

somebody needs to host the infra for that and port punching/upnp is generally an arse to deal with if you want something stable, hence most things which are VPNs generally use P2P but also have a tunnling fallback for cases where they can't

void void
#

how can i download paper 1.17?

#

is it a mod?

golden gust
#

on the downloads page

#

if you require 1.17 and not .1, you'd need to keep clicking more until you see the 1.17 builds or use the downloads API

#

and, it's a modification of the vanilla server software

void void
#

get it off github or the website

#

#

or run it off the mc launch

potent fossil
#

Have you ever run a Minecraft server before

void void
#

no

#

i have but not paper

potent fossil
#

It's the same idea as any other. You write a start script and then run the script, and the script will run the jar.

void void
#

whattttttttttttt

potent fossil
#

Here is a basic one for windows:

@echo off
java -jar paper.jar

Put that in a file called run.bat in the same folder as paper.jar and then double click the bat file.

void void
#

where is the run.bat file?

potent fossil
#

This is nothing new if you have run a server before. If you haven't run a server before, don't lie when I ask if you have because I was asking to help prevent confusing you.

potent fossil
void void
#

how im insanely dumb

warm anchor
#

no you just dont want to learn ._.

potent fossil
#

Open notepad. Paste the two line script I just sent. Save. Save as "All Files" and name it run.bat.

#

Then double click the run.bat file.

#

But, yeah, this is just to get it started. Actually administering it is a whole other battle, and it's something you'll need to do a lot of googling and research for. It's not one-and-done.

vernal moth
#

They used a tool of mine to check status of user after working on software that changes status, they had weird results and thought they wrote shit into the system. They also blamed my tool for displaying stuff as null which seemed strange. I look at it, know my code never has bugs, send a rest call, see that data is actually in the state they want, but they fucked with my serializer, changed field names ("sonar said those aren't using conventional names so we renamed") thus breaking my tool that display stuff, making them thing their new code was wrong and searching in it for a week

vernal moth
minor badge
#

hahaha

#

I mainly just get asked for help with the obscure issues people canโ€™t even pinpoint whom to blame for

vernal moth
#

Now I come it, look at it, say you did X wrong, have fun fixing, and get to take a break cause I just did more work than they did the last week

#

I mean, generally I enjoy being in this position where people come to you for help, keeps the job interesting, but it feels like I am the only one people come to, as soon as they don't understand something, without even trying to think or at least google themselves

#

And I know that they are paid more than me

magic river
#

In the financial world I worked with some people who were with the company 10+ years and coded at a level just higher than the My First Plugin โ„ข๏ธ folks

magic river
#

They learned enough to do their job and just stopped

vernal moth
#

Yeah

#

I mean, i don't expect people to have side projects, that's unreasonable, but i still have coworkers that have no side projects and are able to think about wtf they doing

magic river
#

They had this horribly inefficient system for spinning up a dev environment on your local machine that took over an hour and everyone just learned ways to keep it running longer and the team tried to avoid things that would make everyone have to restart their dev environment

minor badge
#

Iโ€™m honestly very happy I had good luck in that

vernal moth
#

I got a new girl on my team now, 10 years older than me, she might be the only one in my team who has a similar mentality than I am, no fear to dig deep to find solutions, etc. Shes here for a like 2 months now and already understand my main application that I worked on for the last 5 years, the main backend for all our websites, better than anybody else (but me) on the team

magic river
#

I came in and made it run in like 5 minutes I think

minor badge
#

though that may be largely fueled by the sheer complexity of our system making anything less than pretty good unable to keep up lol

magic river
#

Only one of them knew any bash (which the whole thing was written in) and he only worked on Linux where the thing ran "fine"

vernal moth
#

I had a formal feedback meeting with my boss last week, told him I feel back cause I wasn't as productive last months (mainly cause I straight up slept on work time cause I felt miserable) and he was like, didn't notice, you doing great

#

And I going in my head, I don't wanna know what coworkers do on work time then

#

There were weeks where I didn't have more than 5 hours of productive time, and my boss though I was as productive as my coworkers

minor badge
vernal moth
#

Actually, there is at least one coworker of mine in this discord, but they most likely don't read, and if they do, they know they are part of the good guys ๐Ÿ˜‚

magic river
#

Unless they're willing to pay you double or have some kind of profit sharing there is no reason to be twice as productive as your coworkers either

#

Or 8 times as productive, apparently

minor badge
#

pepela I get bored if I'm not at about there

vernal moth
#

I physically can't be less productive, lol

#

And yeah, I already feel miserable for not getting stuff done

olive marlin
#

But you can work for 2 hours and then go do your own stuff. I know people who were writing thesis at work time etc.

minor badge
#

that being said, I am known to do an occasional push to moonshine from my not so personal account :D

vernal moth
#

I don't even mind the money, my boss gives me a raise whenever possible

#

I wrote my thesis at work time, but my thesis was about work

olive marlin
#

Though I couldn't do it myself.

left swift
#

Probably worked less time than coworkers but did double the value of work

vernal moth
#

Once you cross the barrier it's over prof, I exclusively played the new Ori game at work time

#

First only in meetings and later just whenever

magic river
#

My boss knows when we don't have a deadline looming I tend to spend a lot of time fucking off but I'm still at least as productive as others I work with and he can't pay me Amazon money so he lets me get away with it

vernal moth
#

And thanks to WFH, there's basically no barrier in the first place

#

And yeah, even if my boss wouldn't be happy with how I work, am irreplaceable for him right now

#

Even tho I spend plenty time fueling all my knowledge to the new coworker

olive marlin
#

I mean, if I was again in a project like my previous one, where I have 6 tasks done and need to test them, where deployment with tests takes 2-3 hours (or 6 for perf), then yeah.

vernal moth
#

My local spring boot app takes 90 seconds to start on my work machine

olive marlin
#

I used to just work like 3 hours a day total, but spread over 12-16 hours - just checking if everything passed, debugging/fixing and doing next test.

vernal moth
#

That alone opens up way to much opportunity for distraction

magic river
#

Oh yeah, running through the staging and production pipelines to get a change out live takes like 40 minutes and all I have to do is push a button in the middle so that tends to be reddit time

vernal moth
#

But I like the idea of just getting my shit together, working productively in the mornings, doing my own shit after lunch/standup, and then being able to properly rest at the couch in the evening

#

Maybe I'll try that

olive marlin
#

Yeah, I needed very specific hardware setup etc, which is very limited.

#

Yesterday (Sunday) I decided to work from 23 pm to around 3 am for some reason. And that was one of the more productive days tbh.

magic river
#

I could probably cut like 10-15 minutes off of that but it might take a lot of time to do so and would require shutting down staging for my experiments so it hasn't happened yet

olive marlin
#

I can do 2 tasks at once just fine usually, I'm used to it given how long deployment take. But having 6 things open is too much for me

magic river
#

Well, I suppose I could put in a request to get a new environment created that worked like staging

olive marlin
#

And current project is 85% reading, 10% implementing stuff. There's very little time spent on deployments, cause it's quite new.

Is there any way to ban all MCLeaks Accounts?
Some players keeps using MCleaks Accounts to login in and destory.

golden gust
#

Not really, I mean, banning VPNs might help and there are some "lists" for such accounts but generally they're outdated in varying lengths

#

the MSA switchover should fix MCLeaks being a thing in the future

lavish compass
#

Banning VPNs is kinda bad for those who have a legit reason to use VPN

golden gust
#

very few people have legit reasons to use VPNs unless you're stupid and believe all the shit VPN vendors try to shill you

#

Beyond that, the number of people who have a valid reason is often limited and so adding a way to bypass restrictions for those people is not that hard

lavish compass
#

Here are a few legit reasons I can think of

  • Those who live in countries with governments constantly spying on them OR censorship
  • Trying to not give the ISP more data than they already have
  • Bypass network restrictions (LAN or ISP)
  • Prevent potential identity leaks
ashen cliff
#

In that case, you aren't welcome on my server.

potent fossil
#

Those who live in countries with governments constantly spying on them OR censorship
Usually the only valid reason

Trying to not give the ISP more data than they already have
Lol.

Bypass network restrictions (LAN or ISP)
Only sometimes valid, often can be achieved just by changing DNS server.

Prevent potential identity leaks
Lol.

ancient bolt
#

VPNs change your point of origin and hide the IP addresses you hit, but that's it

#

no security benefit at all

golden gust
#
  1. the very few valid reasons there
  2. So, the intent is that you move that data from your ISP towards a 3rd party company who are generally flagged by security agencies for monitoring because of the usage of them, of which many providers have been found to be lying about their logging policies, etc
  3. I mean, sometimes valid, I use tor to bypass some of my ISPs restrictions
  4. No. That's a lie. Many people who think using a VPN protects their identity are the type of people leaving their identity all over the place, and, see 2
ancient bolt
#

banning VPNs is a good idea for real time games like minecraft due to the latency they bring which affects everyone on the server

potent fossil
vestal jasper
#

Bypassing service geolocks like Netflix does is another

lavish compass
#

What I meant by 4 is: That depends on your threat profile. You wouldn't want to accidentally leak your IP if you know people are looking to dox you for example

foggy veldt
#

I like vpns when joining small servers because there is always that one server with a geoip plugin that feels the need to advertise my city

lavish compass
#

Yes, I know that VPN does not hide your identity

ancient bolt
#

How will someone dox you by getting your dynamic NAT'd IP address?

#

VPNs are cool, not saying otherwise, but they shouldn't be used to connect to minecraft servers

#

too much latency

lavish compass
#

You can get an appropriate geolocation, also depends on your ISP/Router

lavish compass
ancient bolt
#

unless you're paying for a business line with a guaranteed static public IP - in which case you should know why you're doing that / the "risks" involed with that - then no it does not depend on your ISP or router

golden gust
#

I mean, once again

#

many of the anonymous/log free VPNs have been found out to have logs and even work with 3 letter agencies

ancient bolt
#

your point of origin argument kind of falls apart there considering the VPN now knows your point of origin lol

vernal moth
ancient bolt

vernal moth

lavish compass
#

I mean yeah, nothing's like 100% secure

ancient bolt
#

HTTPS is pretty damn secure

lavish compass
#

Whatever fits your threat profile best, i guess

#

I mean, previous versions of TLS have been proven to be weak

vernal moth
#

Not at the time where they have been recent

ancient bolt
#

unless you have a nationstate after you personally for whatever reason, there's no security benefit from a VPN. And if you have a nationstate after you personally, there's no security benefit from a VPN

golden gust
#

pretty sure all of the afflicted versions of TLS have been often deprecated for years and left there as a legacy shim because muh legacy devices

vernal moth
#

VPNs don't protect against nation states

#

Only Tor does, and even that I am not sure about anymore

golden gust
#

TOR doesn't

lavish compass
#

Tor has it's issues

ancient bolt
#

vernal moth
#

ancient bolt

What VPNs actually have is good marketting from tons of youtubers and podcasters constantly repeating the same bullshit

#

The only real benefit a VPN will ever give you is changing your country of origin

#

for shit like netflix

vernal moth
#

They only do what they are paid to do

#

VPN also helps in the few remaining insecure public wifis

golden gust

lavish compass
#

Also I tested, vpn latency isn't bad at all

ancient bolt
#

yeah every perm device has a set IP address. It's still DHCP, but the network will only ever provide that device with that fixed IP address

ancient bolt
#

also what is your definition of "not bad"

lavish compass
#

I mean yeah it depends on the vpn

#

(im on wifi)

ancient bolt
#

it depends on so much more than that

lavish compass
#

your peering, location, etc

ancient bolt
#

so you have 11 ms ping between you and the VPN

#

speedtest will select the closest test server to the VPN

lavish compass
#

no that's between me, vpn, and speedtest server

golden gust
#

I've seen many VPNs show a low latency and basically shit the bed as soon as any traffic starts going anywhere

lavish compass
#

let me check if it's at the same dc

#

nope, not the same dc

ancient bolt
#

I said closest, not same DC

lavish compass
#

well yeah

ancient bolt
#

anyways cat is right. Speedtests are fun, but that means absolutely nothing

#
  1. actually using the VPN to connect to servers without priority routing means you're doing extra hops for no benefit (not the same as speedtest or google or netflix)
  2. Even if your VPN setup works out well with the minecraft server you want to play with, 95+% of the time it does not for everyone else
lavish compass
#

what vpn providers do most people use anyways

ancient bolt
#

nordvpn and dashlane vpn are common ads I see a lot, so I suspect they have lots of users

#

there's definitely others tho

lavish compass
#

I don't think most CCs that accept those ads even know what they're about to say

ancient bolt

in general they don't

#

unless they are technical, then they are just misguided themselves or they don't care

lavish compass
#

Mullvad doesn't spend money on marketing afaik

ancient bolt

hm dash2dock seems to be glitching a bit for me on gnome 40

ancient bolt
#

cause linux on the desktop is bad

red timber
#

indeed it is

ancient bolt
#

there's some weird icon sizing issues with dask2dock now i think but idk

#

currently on macOS, the best OS

red timber
#

macos has crashed way more than linux for me :(

ancient bolt
#

a reasonably priced mac pro would be the ideal solution for me

red timber
#

it suddenly deciding to not come up from sleep is painful

lavish compass
#

Inb4 Apple starts scanning all your files in node_modules in background

red timber
#

it already scans your executables

ancient bolt
#

that way my current machine could just run windows for gaming and I don't have to be scared it'll wipe out my linux partitions every time I reboot

red timber
#

won't be long until they'll start doing that

#

but ye i suppose there are few rough edges on M1 still

#

what they haven't polished out yet

lavish compass
#

For the context, I'm talking about their new NeuraHash thingy

ancient bolt
#

macos doesn't scan executables, they verify signatures

golden gust
#

lol

ancient bolt
#

i mean there's probably some kind of "scanning" but not once have I ever seen that happen lol

wispy blade
golden gust
#

I mean, for me, I think that the ideal setup is that I just want some NAS with PCI passthrough with an SSD and some storage so I can just use steam play or whatever

red timber
#

well, it hashes them and pings apple to check them against some list

ancient bolt
#

neurahash thing runs on icloud photos, not local files

lavish compass
#

wouldn't surprise me if they start doing it on local files

ancient bolt
#

I'm not sure about that

lavish compass
#

I really hope the steam deck changes the linux desktop landscape

ancient bolt
#

the thing with icloud photos is that apple hosts it

lavish compass
#

the hashing is done on your device though iirc

ancient bolt
#

which means things get legally....not great for apple if they are found to be hosting that content

golden gust
#

I mean, I doubt the steam deck will change much

ancient bolt
#

steam is never going to fix the linux desktop lol

#

windows is making progress though, hilariously

red timber
#

one of the major pain points of linux desktop is still x11

ancient bolt
#

I hate that I can't use wayland on my nvidia card ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

red timber
#

wayland attempts to solve it (and it partially succeeds with that!) while stepping few steps backwards...

#

you can do scaling properly but almost everything is lifted to compositors

ancient bolt
#

at least not on gnome successfully

golden gust
#

That's a core issue with linux is that it's heavily 2 steps forward 5 steps back

red timber
#

e.g with wayland there is no standardized way to do screenshots

golden gust
#

wayland defo offers some gains over the dated legacy mess that is x11, but it completently shatters the years of shit working in the progess for gains which for most people are kinda 'eh

ancient bolt
#

meanwhile macos is basically linux that looks good and works well and people actually write software for it

#

it's great

red timber
#

so for example; if gnome decides they won't implement a standard, and neither does kde, you'll end up with 50 different screenshot tools etc.

ancient bolt
#

and I don't have to fiddle with it to make it work!

#

love it

plucky sparrow
#

I think NeuraHash is actually good but I've seen a lot of people say that it's privacy invasion

lavish compass
golden gust
#

I mean, when I was younger, I used to love and preach about how linux let me tweak shit to my hearts content

#

I could use a different DE every week

#

I could install new themes every day or waste hours daily pissing around to get the ideal UX only to lose it when I reinstall and can't be assed tryna figure out all the fonts or extra crap I need to get stuff to work, or rando crap not working anymore and just happenchance working because I installed it a month before the project was deaded and just happen to have the bin/lib files sitting around, etc

ancient bolt
golden gust
#

these days when I install a new OS, I clone my dotfiles repo which contains the few general files safe to share which I care about, install iterm and brew, and then everything else is generally a cask or so away and generally installed when I need it and such

lavish compass
#

isnt iterm mac os only

golden gust
#

Yes

ancient bolt
#

iterm is so nice. Best terminal I've ever used

golden gust
#

terminal apps on linux are honestly kinda trash

#

Like, I can use gnome term and such just fine, but, I mean, coming from macOS to linux, you forget how spoiled you are

#

and theres a lot of stupid minimal shit, e.g. a meta key specificially designed for meta desktop stuff

ancient bolt
#

every time I do a new linux install I'm surprised how little I actually have to set up lol. I've learned to stick with defaults and put most of my stuff behind accounts / subscriptions so it just magically syncs for me

golden gust
#

e.g. copy/paste not using control keys

ancient bolt
#

keybindings are always the worst

lavish compass
#

alacritty and kitty is pretty nice if you haven't tried those

golden gust
#

like, don't get me wrong, I respect linux and still use it daily almost, but my dedication to it does not exceed the cost of my time

floral mesa
#

gnome terminal just works, though I hear its core library is rather crap and buggy if you try to work it on anything other than GNOME

golden gust

Those are nice terminals if you use them daily and wanna get used to the keyboards, etc, they use

I really hate gnome

wispy blade
#

i will keep advertising xfce

ancient bolt
#

There's just no other options I've found that are actually better

golden gust
#

Like, gnome shell literally fell into the exact same trap as windows 8

#

and it's total fucking ass that the DE is only really usable to mouse users on the daily if you start installing extentions to make it act like something for a desktop

lavish compass
#

running something like i3wm, bspwm, dwm is lighter and less buggy than a full de but its harder to manage stuff and is not ideal on a laptop

ancient bolt
#

gnome's response to having built up so much shitty code is just to start removing tons of essential features

#

so now you have to scramble to hope to find extensions to bring those features back that at least half work

#

and of course they tend to break every gnome update

#

so, great user experience, good job gnome

golden gust
#

I mean, those minimal DWMs are great if you're consistently using linux and can get used to the things

lavish compass
#

IntelliJ IDEA is now ready!

golden gust
#

But, I mean, I don't use linux 24/7 these days after I was dumb and hackintosh'd a machine

ancient bolt
#

I don't like having to work really hard to learn how to use my machine

red timber
#

i just switched to nixos, i have base configuration which i can just apply on any of the machines i want

ancient bolt
#

i want it to provide a good UX that works as expected

red timber
#

and they'll work identically

lavish compass
#

i love declarative deployments

ancient bolt
#

also I want it to be pretty

#

cause I look at it all day

golden gust
#

I mean, my big thing is that I don't got the time/energy/effort to mess around picking up all this stuff just for it to be replaced in a year or two when some new shiny shit comes along

#

and then theres the "make it pretty" thing

red timber
#

i just stopped caring about "make it pretty" part

golden gust
#

for all the flack that macOS gets for being locked down UI wise, it looks pretty enough for me to be a daily driver

red timber
#

last time when i made it pretty i spent hours on picking symbols from font awesome

lavish compass
#

like im not trying to get on top of unixporn, i just want something that doesn't look like windows xp

red timber
#

then arch linux updated font awesome from 4 to 5

golden gust
#

I mean, for me it's the general usability aspect, e.g. the dock is kinda nice, but, I couldn't cope without alfred too

red timber
#

and my configuration broke

golden gust
#

and most "quick launchers" in linux are generally kinda 'eh compared to alfred

ancient bolt
#

it needs to look good out of the box, or using a single theme I can install easily

#

and any theme which has holes or pieces which don't line up is a non-starter too

#

but also looking ugly is a non-starter

red timber
#

i don't care about prettiness at all these days, as long as i can set a decent wallpaper it's good enough

ancient bolt
#

life's too short to have an ugly DE

red timber
#

i'll end up with minimal i3/sway configuration, no window decorations just 1px white border around active window

#

and probably some stolen rofi theme from somewhere

#

.g rofi themes

upbeat falconBOT
golden gust
#

I mean, I just got tired of running around tryna find stuff

red timber
#

ight

#

rip then

ancient bolt
#

i mean that's what it comes down to

red timber
#

yeah i don't go around anymore either, just found things which actually work fine for me

golden gust
#

even oh my zsh annoys me at times, like, the theme I've got now works but it's kinda eh and doesn't entirely render properly

ancient bolt
#

i can fiddle with all of that stuff for hours or I can just pay apple and not have to deal with it

red timber
#

omz belongs to trash, it's slow as hell too

golden gust
#

I kinda wanna replace it but when Ive gotta find something decent which has the info I want which doesn't stall the terminal startup

red timber
#

p10k is where it's at

golden gust
#

I was meant to look at that like, too many years ago, and just never got around to it

#

Like, I did have some stupidly slow startups at one point with omz but ended up figuring out what it was and fixing it

ancient bolt
#

windows though, is a special kind of hell. Windows 10 has dialog boxes of every style of windows going all the way back to XP depending on the application you are in

golden gust
#

it still has some not so great moments but overall it's good enough, for now

red timber
#

.zcompdump is usually the shit you can blame

ancient bolt
#

Windows 11 has all of those + the new style that's in windows 11

golden gust
#

microsoft is too stuck on tryna keep legacy shit from '95 working all while tryna move everything away from the legacy crap

ancient bolt
#

I mean, they are very good about keeping backwards compat, basically better than anyone else

red timber
#

can't keep milking those stone age enterprises running fortran programs with no source available and long ceased developers otherwise

ancient bolt
#

but yeah it's a mess

golden gust
#

I mean, yea, props to them for the backwards compat and keeping stuff working, but, ones maybe gotta draw a line in the sand somewhere

#

Heck, they wanna kill CPUs from like, pre-2018 I think it was?

ancient bolt
#

every single generation of xbox, including the most recent, is still capable of playing original xbox games, and they are all still able to link up with each other and the original xbox and play network linked original xbox games

golden gust
#

But, god forbid we kill your 30 year old applications

ancient bolt
#

it's pretty incredible that they keep backwards compat up that well

red timber
#

huh really?

damn didn't know that

Spanning 19 years you can play multiplayer games with any combination of Original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One S|X, and now for the first time Xbox Series S|X but utilizing System-Link - a form of multiplayer gaming that was introduced in 2001 with the Original Xbox and still supported in 2020 with the Xbox One.

that's fine, just not the place to send jar files unsolicited

we can't check every jar to make sure "it's just a plugin"

People do you have any ideas on what could a man do with 128gb ram on a dedicated server other than starting up a mc server network? ๐Ÿง (asking seriously, it's not a weird flex)

#

It's weird how I wouldn't probably take any benefit from going over 10gb for the main survival server

#

Soo... I have almost 100 free gb left ๐Ÿ˜†

cursive junco

honest kindle
#

is there any kind of manual combat logging plugin, or one that lets you force a player to be logged in if you have the perms?

red timber
potent fossil
#

ah yes minecraft, the ultimate and primary use of dedicated servers

cursive junco
merry talon
#

you could run chrome maybe

potent fossil
#

webserver with lots of traffic & huge varnish cache; many apps all at once; ipfs node like mikro said, etc

#

k8s node and let kubernetes just have all the resources and use as it sees fit

#

(^probably more common)

cursive junco
#

ipfs probably needs way more space that what I have

potent fossil
#

are you asking because you have a server and want to know what to do with it? thonk

cursive junco
#

Happens that I went a bit too overkill for a minecraft server

#

and yeah a webserver would probably fit quite nicely

#

a big fat webserver

potent fossil
#

lul

#

i mean, even if you give it a huge varnish cache (32+ gb), it won't help a whole lot if the traffic ain't there

#

like yea, it'll be there and well cached...but....for whom

cursive junco
#

The fattest and loneliest webserver

alpine comet
#

anyone got a permissions bukkit plugin recommendation? I was sorting the projects by total downloads for 1.17 and I can't seem to find any

potent fossil
#

you can put a fileserver on there (not necessarily as big as ipfs, maybe minio) and then setup sharex to host your own screenshots and stuff ig

cursive junco
#

interesting idea

#

will gather some more info

potent fossil
cursive junco

also I heard of chunky cloud rendering

#

maybe could host a node there

potent fossil

i dont know shet bout that

alpine comet
#

plugins for paper are where then, because I thought it was a fork of bukkit and uses their plugins

brave radish
#

it does; just no one uses CraftBukkit itself anymore

potent fossil
#

you can search spigot for plugins, until hangar (our own plugin repo) is finished and released

brave radish
#

technically Bukkit is the name of the API that plugins use

potent fossil
#

most spigot plugins will run on paper

brave radish
alpine comet
#

ah so spigot, not bukkit then?

potent fossil
#

if they don't, probably not worth running at all

#

you can check bukkit, some big names are still on there like WorldEdit

#

lots are on spigot

alpine comet
#

yeah I was looking at worldguard I think

brave radish
potent fossil
#

it's all related, indeed

alpine comet
#

I'm just trying to be able to make sure I can use the in game console, and others cannot

brave radish
alpine comet
#

not really sure if I should be extending spiggot or bukkit to accomplish that

potent fossil
#

some might not, but in that case they're probably something worth reconsidering using in the first place because for something to be so strictly coded for a specific system typically means they are touching areas of code they shouldn't be

brave radish
#

or... bukkit.dev thonk
whatever the bukkit website is
