I had a physics lab with a group that I put together myself. They seemed pretty resourceful and generally helpful people. I was like, nice. I made a group chat for us, sent them all the lab materials they would need because I'm nice. I asked them to please watch the included video and to set up a spreadsheet in the same manner as the video instructs. They need a basic kinematics simulation to do the lab in the first place, so they can change inputs and view the results. Only one of them came prepared with their Excel set up. The other two came with nothing, though one, who had nothing (which would be impossible had he watched the video), claimed he had watched the video multiple times! So we had to spend an hour of our three hour lab walking these two imbeciles through setting up Excel. Which the video would have helped them do in the first place. And then we spent the next two hours trying to speedrun the lab problems, which the Unprepared Ones needed Extra help on inputting equations, which the video would have helped them with, so we ended up going over on our lab time. Meanwhile the guy who came with nothing kept complaining and literally whining, like a child, about how hungry he was and that he wanted to stop doing the lab. Finally we finished and then we had to do the quiz that followed by inputting stuff into Excel and interpreting the results. Again, the two people who came prepared passed the quiz. The dude who came with nothing got 3/10. Not once, not twice, but three times. He had two chances to retake a bad score and he failed three times in a row. And then he had the audacity to DM me saying that he thinks he failed because my equation was wrong (which he should not have been blindly copying, but it wasn't wrong anyway so he just copied incorrectly go figure). So, I am feeling quite bamboozled and very annoyed right now and for the first time in history I actually emailed my professor to report this shit behavior.
