The free version is open source, which is good. The paid version isn’t so it’s hard to say what the benefit is. And it’s very new with not a lot of testers yet.

Yeah but the doc doesn't guarantee anything and who knows which impls exist out there in all the different JVMs. I wouldn't rely on that.
However, if you know that the permissions HashMap is never modified and you ensure that there is a happens before relationship between your thread and player join it is safe anyway.
But in general I'd say no. It's by far not thread safe.
