TTL is time to live. live as in push to production, not live as in time remaining alive.
It's meant to be used so you can rollback a DNS change if you fucced up. I.e., use a TTL of 1 hour. Now when you submit that change, it shouldn't take effect for one hour so if you remove it then it's like nuffin happened.
But CF's default TTL is like a few seconds.
