What'd you use to shine it?
I'd appreciate any information in relating to shining your shoes. Recently I've been wanting to get into shoe shining because they make you seem a lot nicer. I mean unless people are creepy and constantly looking at your shoes they probably won't notice it that much but still, it looks a lot better if you have shined shoes instead of dirty shoes. But I'm just not entirely sure how to get into shoe shining. Is it just a wet towel and go to town with some elbow grease? Or do you have a special shining lather? I mean I know there's special shining lather or fluid or whatever but do you need that? That looks like a pretty good end result so I'd just like to know what you used.

Horsehair brush, microfiber cloth, and shoe polish

That's a soft brush at top, and those are more coarse ones. You later in the polish with the microfiber, and start with the soft brush to start buffing it. Then you use a coarser brush after it's started
Then you finish off buffing it with the microfiber
That's my kit, he was a street shiner.
People would rest their foot on top, and he'd buff it.

I don't even have any shine-able shoes (only sneakers) but I figured I'm going to need to get one soon since I'm 15 and quickly approaching 16, 17, then 18, 19, 20, 21, then 22, and what do you know, 23, and I still haven't even gotten out of my mother's house yet. And if I lived in the 1900s, then I could've polished my shoes and went in for a real life interview and I have polished shoes and it looks a lot nicer. Plus it's just a good skill to have since whenever I go to, say, a wedding for my brother or sister, actually I don't have a brother, scratch that, unless I am my own brother. Which I'm not, ignore that. Anyway, yeah, it's a good skill to have to go to a wedding for my sisters or anyone really. If I go to a wedding, or even a funeral, it's good to have polished shoes and make a good appearance. What do you think?

What I DO notice quite a bit is cats and dogs and.. sunscreen, some shaving lathers..
I've tried tons of sunscreens. Organic good stuff, cheap walmart stuff, whatever it is, it makes me break out in hives for 2 days.
It's a big pain so I just have to stay out of the sun a lot or get really burnt. Same thing with shaving cream. BUT I'm using like a cheap shaving cream (edge for sensitive skin)
So at this point I just shave with warm water and soap.. it does "enough"
I think my body's getting somehow less allergic because I've been noticing it doesn't get AS irritated. Maybe it's not because I'm allergic to the shaving cream, just irritated by it. The cold water after shaving thing really helps me.
But yeah I've been wanting a nice lather and aftershave and all that stuff for a while now, I'm not sure when I'll get it.
