Yes. I've put in the cpu, ram and cpu cooler, I've plugged in the cooler, 4-pin and 24-pin connectors, plugged in the psu to the wall. There's power to the usb ports on the motherboard, but connecting the power pins doesn't turn it on.

thats how the bukkit api handles the maps, @vestal jasper. when creating a map it uses the next available map id. at creation time you can swap out the map renderer for your own. it saves the rendered image in map format to that map id in the world folder.
