rsnapshot is basically rsync plus incremental diffs so you can have multiple backups in less space

oh snap got it. Cool. So it makes "points" that you can roll back to based on only rsync update data.

It only does dedup on whole files though so it's not as effective as other solutions

(I also suggest pulling backups rather than pushing them xD exposing your full backup server to anyone who accesses your production servers is a bit insecure)

ZFS already does dedup and cheap snapshots so you don't need rsnapshot

You can just run run rsync then make a snapshot if you want to keep multiple backups

Brand new nvme I got yesterday, put it in on the motherboard, and rebooted my PC worked fine but now my PC just doesn't boot at all except to Linux cause I already had that on another drive, but nothing is loading, can't access bios, etc.

I am not able to open the boot menu, the only one that loads would be the linux grub.

If I disconnect the linux drive it just sits there.

On boot it'll say to hit F12 or F2 to boot into bios, and I hit that, and then it just leaves a blank screen.

for about 30 seconds

its a circular battery on the motherboard

it will wipe all the settings in the bios

then it should force you into the bios on boot

only thing i can suggest is removing the nvme, clearing cmos to get into the bios, update the bios then retry. otherwise try the nvme in another machine

Oh I forgot one thing, the bios stopped working after I tried to add in more RAM and it asked me to go into the bios so it could make sure it had the right amount
