also if i join a server that is offline it doesnt give me the normal error it gives me:

Does anyone knows why full gc is not being called? My waterfall instance was using 4 out of 3gb ram and cpu usage was at 100% in general...
I had to run /sparkb heapsummary --run-gc-before to force a gc call and cpu went down to 70-80% as well as ram allocation down to 1.8gb.
I feel I may have a memory leak somewhere. But didn't expect the command to fix the memory issue.
the JVM decides when to do a full GC
but that's generally reserved to the heap actually being full and a smaller GC being unable to clean up
that generally means that there is either something generating a ton of crap on the heap or a mixture between overloaded hardware/slow ram, etc
I see, thanks. We moved to better hardware, if ram usage still increases over time and doesn't go down then I'll hunt for memory leaks.

Hey I have some servers connected to the core using waterfall and I created a new one in 1.18 but when I try to connect to this servers its giving this exception in the client (no errors in console)

I've noticed that if I disconnect someone from the proxy or kick them on one of the servers when they get immediately thrown into the server list, the MOTD shows the MOTD of the backend server instead of the one one the proxy, is that a known issue?

Hi all! I have a little issue with my waterfall/bungee network. Players are having different UUIDs on both servers in my network and I don't know why?
both have bungeecord set to true and running in offline mode. The waterfall config has IP forwrd to true and online mode true as well
the player's uuid on server 1 is different to the one on server2

waterfall/bungee will reconnect you to the last server you was logged in to by default, otherwise it uses the priorities list

I have a waterfall proxy setup in front of all my servers, and I would like it so that when each server does it's daily restart it kicks the players to the lobby rather than kicking them from the network. I have looked all over spigot and some people say to use the default priorities system, So I tried that and it didn't work. Other people was saying to use a plugin like slingshot/ Redirect Plus / BungeeKick etc. But no one of them seem to work. I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong or what but I was hoping that maybe you could help me out.

Plugins like redirectplus need an server to kick for example called "lobby", and it will handle the connection to lobby
I don't think that Waterfall/Bungee either have the ability to do that

double check your network setup, i.e make sure that the connection between the proxy and the server is using localhost or whatever, but, atm, I really have no idea what's causing it and don't have any recommendations to sus it out

not all networks let you use the external IP address to connect back to the node itself, so chances are it's a routing issue with the host

You startup file is named differently in your script, you can change it there, or change your current one to the waterfall-1.19-500.jar

Then you should be able to turn your friend's server into a proxy, but be aware that you still need some backend servers, otherwise proxy is completely useless

Well, if you don't have bungeeguard etc, then you can connect to your backend IP, but it's a really bad idea to have that available as it's a huge security vulnerability

Second, flamecord does a lot of "hacky" tricks by closing connections when there are some exceptions and forcing unexpected closures.

shot in the dark... until today, everything worked fine. Ive bungeecorded (waterfall) 3 servers together in a network and use Simple Portals to warp between them from a hub. One particular server "123" stopped working today and redirects me to either of the 2 other servers when I do /server 123
this error is on 1.19.1, and on 1.19 I just get redirected to one of the other servers

Hello, whenever i execute an command like /glist, it says Unknown command and at the same time will show the server list.
It's like, the command it's executed on the Paper server and Waterfall server at the same time. I though bungeecord commands are not executed inside Paper.

- the first server you join needs to do the forge handshake

@whole hullHack that's just how it works. the player's client disconnects from the proxy and then the proxy disconnects the connection to the backend paper server
there is no way to know if the client will disconnect before it actually disconnects
another "fun" behaviour similar to that is server switches: The client will connect to the target backend server before it actually disconnects from the source server. (so saving data in quit event and loading it in join will not work if one would want to transfer data on switch π )

some people tend to also use redis as a database/actual on-disk storage without using a different database but it's not really it's main functionality (according to some people)

- Use TCPShield or a ddos protection service
- Setup proper firewall on the router
- Harden the server as much as possible
- Don't make enemies lol!
(since my server is very small and doesn't have that much player base, its probably most likely not a ddos target unless I make someone upset or angry XD)

The problem is that some people can't reach the webpage and game server, because of some network issues. The reasons are not the key, just take it (for almost all my community all things works fine, there just some troubles for a specific group).
So, my setup:
Waterfall server on my own machine,
3x paper servers linked with that weaterfall.
(a few portals (globalwarps from WarpSystem plugin) that TPs player to the desired server.
And I came up with a solution for my problem:
I've purchased a droplet on DigitalOcean and put there another waterfall server, and LMAO IT WORKS! Let's call it the proxy-waterfall.

Known issue. If you want to stack proxies the first proxy should always be a velocity proxy. Bungee tends to implode in these ways if you stack it

Hey I have a question, are you able to run so all Java minecraft & SkyFactory4 players join through the same proxy & lobby then after they can go to the servers that are designed for there gamemode?

Uh forge and proxies dont really get along for MC 1.13+, but I've seen servers do it on older versions so I know it's possible
He can use ligthfall if he does not care about using a mod on client-side
what's the mod used for in that case? is it just to get the client to send information again to the newly switched to server? (I have almost no experience with forge lol)

Like, waterfall is literally just a proxy
it as 0 bearing in your individual servers shitting themselves and throwing errors which kicks the player

well, i don't see why use a huge plugin on proxy
I remember that SLP even had problems with some "ddos" attacks related to kinda motd spam
Also as far i know, Serverlisplus was un-updated only they fix huge bugs
well for one because it offers more than just "show motd"
e.g. you can specify the player hover text too
also it's not really huge compared to some other stuff Β―_(γ)_/Β― but I guess that's subjective

i use cloud net and have updated waterfull by downloading the latest version and then restarting the proxy, do i need to install this somehow differently or how?
There should be folder for them or smt like that

What error? Maybe you have to enable it in modules.yml or smt, not exactly sure, been a long time since i used bungee based proxy
