never ever knew about that a cornea part could be exchanged lol

hushed flicker
#

Yea, theres a bunch of procedures, I had one called DALK, in which they replace like 99% of the corneal layers with donor tissue

#

I wanted to start a blog and take pictures of it and that, but, it's really pretty hard to notice something on a camera unless you have a setup particular for taking eye pictures

hushed flicker
#

Theres surprisingly very little info about their on the procedure from people who've had it, I think that other than minor issues, it's just one of those "long running but mostly uneventful" type of surgeries

I have a condition called Keratoconus, basically, my corneal stroma, I think it's called, thinned out and lost it's ability to remain cornea shaped, hence the transplant; Hopefully, I should be getting contact lenses in the next few months

Our big test for job interviewees was to have them code a sort routine. Any type of sort they wanted, any language, even pseudocode.
Half of the interviewees couldn't even do it.
I wonder what would have happened if someone presented this algorithm. Chances are, the interviewer wouldn't have understood it.

In fairness, we pretty much only ever see the NEMA 5-15p/r installed, though if you ever want a welder or a dryer or anything that uses split phase or 3 phase or whatever, those plugs would be one of those plugs and you would be hard pressed to be able to find a different device that uses the same plug (unless you're buying the same type of device, those are often the same plug)

I know you have to have 20A circuits for the kitchen, dunno if the outlets need to be though

Captain’s Log, Netherdate 4567.9

The rifts of this hellish realm tremble as we stand on the precipice of a grand experiment. Our engines, fueled by the smoldering essence of soul fire, hum with anticipation. The obsidian gate looms ahead, a singularity of ancient design, its swirling vortex promising passage to the unknown—a world of green pastures, boundless oceans, and light untainted by eternal flame.

This maneuver is untested. The distortion factor between realms is severe. But we have lingered in this infernal domain long enough. Our cries will no longer echo unanswered in the void. The overworld awaits.

Helm, engage dimensional resonance. Power to the propulsion cores. Prepare for transposition.

Warp speed to the Overworld—now.

TO BE FAIR It is hard to genuinely write tests for most stuff when working with Minecraft plugins

I know MockBukkit is a thing, but that is not really that well a thing if you want to test your MiniGame. Writing up the logic for your tests (and making sure that one isn't buggy!) is probably more time consuming than writing the actual logic lmao

It's weird because they're not just copy and pasted. Also C nerds know strings are just pointers.

and anyway python strings is not "just an array of characters", its a class, that just happens to implement the _getitem_ method

why everyone think the optimizing and futures of paper dosen't come with a prize... this gen is weird cat_what

hushed flicker
#

It’s not even the optimisation that often breaks that stuff

#

Like, leafs optimisations can be fun but he often fixes those in due course

#

Most of what people complain about is the stuff craftbukkit or spigot broke, very rarely outside of people trying to follow YouTube tutorials that rely on bugs does anything lead directly to paper which isn’t considered a bug

rare badge
#

Yea A lot of issues do come from upstream (Bukkit/Spigot), and Paper usually just inherits them. The YouTube tutorial thing is painfully true though . Some vanilla mechanics are tweaked for performance/exploit fixes, and players scream "Paper ruined farming/mob spawning/etc." when Spigot or CraftBukkit actually changed it first.
