#please make everything balanced.

We will aim to keep the game as fair and balanced as we can. But as any game evolves, new features/items will tilt the scales in different directions so we either have a game where nothing changes and everything is in perfect balance, or we have a game with new features that will cause older items to be OP. or underpowered.
If we take these older items away or if we nerf them too much, many players will be upset and leave the game. So we now we also have to find a balance in keeping older players happy without destroying the experience of new players.
This is why during the play test, accounts are temporary. We will need to make breaking changes and rebalance the game without trying to keep players happy who already owned the items.
With the removal of the Tier system, ensure that early-game guns are effective to prevent new players from struggling against experienced players with guns you get at a higher level.
Yes, but it is not always a popular thing to do.
Once we have enough players, matches should be grouped into different skill/levels.
So the tier system will be coming back?
SBMM
hope not
yes its worst
Really hope not. Worst thing you can do is punish good players
It would be best to just separate players based on levels but that will segregate players
Maybe just 2 pools initially. 1 for new players and the other for everyone else. We need to protect new players if we want the game to grow.
@dusty garden Removing third person was a right choice to accomplish this
tbh if the game will be balanced, the fact that it does not have tier system is enough, any new player will have to lost to improve and get better, just like the other players, if someone is good and the game has no hackers anymore, it means he started bad and gets better along time, the biggest problem was: a t12 player playing against a t1
the lvl is not just a number but its not everything also
i hope the new game will have so many players that we wont need to care about this
True but a lot of people are salty and are quick to call any decent player a hacker. I understand why they would implement features to improve player retention
the game will have full matches and everyone will play the way they want 🙏
The biggest flaw of the tier system was forcing players to upgrade guns and armor to improve their stats. The system itself wasn't bad because you had to progress past each tier to get new guns.
thats gonna happen with old WT players, because they will see this game like a wt3 x2
at least in the start
At least removing third person will improve gameplay
today we cant tell if someone is really good or a cheater, but the new game can solve this if RGS do the job
i trust them
they are talking a lot of the game coming from the ground to solve this
of course
i really support this decision
To be clear, we will not have tiered weapons (T1-T12). What I was referring to was separating players into pools so players have a better experience with more evenly matched opponents.
I don't even think poor performance is the reason why people quit games. Dying to things they can't counter is the thing that drives people crazy
People might abuse that. Especially if it is performance based matchmaking
we take this
We will figure out an algorithm that works well, but initially it will just simply be seprarated into new players and everyone else.
yes[
New players will never be able to compete with experienced players. This is a fact.
Even with a great algorithm, it is still easy to exploit.
Not necessarily if they have access to good guns easily
Apart from basics map knowledge which takes time to get, gun balance is the thing that will differentiate experienced players from new players the most.
In general, new players are not going to be familiar with the maps, weapons, and gameplay. There will always be exceptions.
you are right, just comparing with the other WT's, the biggest problem was tier system, i grew on WTC really fast because i could compete with a m16 xD it was not easy but it never felt impossible
New players are very fragile. If they don't feel like they can improve fast enough, they will uninstall the game within 5 minutes and never come back.
tbh i think no one will, but the game looks good
i really want to play it
i does not look like a BF or a COD
If they have experience with other shooting games, they won't have a hard time adjusting.
That's your opinion. You may be different, but the data says this. Players will move onto the next game within minutes of installing our game.
it has WT essence, witch is good
can bring attention
they only need to feel they can grow on the game
If you punish players that do well by putting them in lobbies with other good players, they will also move on to other games.
I'm not suggesting that right now. The most important thing is to protect new players.
2 pools: new players and other players
thats ok
I'm curious how this will be handled and what system will be used to identify who has gaming experience and who doesn't. It's like SBMM in easy
It will be SBMM
They said it will be just level separation in the beginning
Yeah, if we do any separation by pool, it will most likely just be by level/XP. We may not have to do this if the game has good balance. At the minimal, we should separate new players from everyone else.
create a pool of rookie players up to level 15 and then access to that server is locked?
Add a ranked system. Where the best of the best compete for ranks. Such as Bronze 1, 2 ,3, silver 1, 2 ,3, etc. (doesn’t have to be called those)
Fresh new players would be within the first week of playing. We could match them with slightly more experienced players when there aren't many players online.
What will optimzation be like? Will the game be GPU or CPU intensive?
The game will have higher CPU & GPU requirements. We will see how it performs for everyone and optimize the game over time.
