they mail the badges to you if you order them before a certain deadline, yes

(the badge mailing deadline is March 11)

Ok, the lands thing I was curious about. I was trying to do the mental gymnastics of “ok, a 40 card deck has 16-17 lands. A 60 card deck had anywhere from 20-24. How does that convert to this?” It’s good to know I don’t have to worry about lands

and that's why it has the special rule that lands in your deck cycle for 0, so if you did open lands (that are just Some Land and not, like, Wasteland) you can just pitch 'em no problem

I would say though... they're both at 11am, doors are 10, and if you're not a super-premium line hopper or queue up super early, it takes a bit to even get on the floor
so maybe it's worth just going straight there, since you may not have time to do much else anyway

this was a wild weekend
the Magic gameplay was what one would expect for my schedule (lots of chaos and nonsense decks and weird cards)
but like... my experience of everything was way different this time. for one, things felt so spread out, which sucked a bit. it felt like two neighboring events
was on a WotC research panel, and that's all I'm allowed to say about that
and then like... I had so many positive, friendly interactions with so many people. the Mage Tower league was awesome for it. I'm so used to going by my own pace, doing my own thing, especially since I vlog these and don't wanna drag anyone into that... and then this time I go and have dinner with someone I'd only met this weekend, since we connected so well during our league match and we were in the same hotel so like why not hang out
it's probably just me loosening up and getting comfortable but this felt like a way more.... human con than last year

I had great time meeting people too, both from here and randos. I sat at a table and held up a Dandan and got like 5 games with excited people! Almost everyone loved the Box of Ancient Treasures. Met someone in the LRR meet and greet line and had fun talking, then found out we work for the same company??? Then met their friends and played a great and very silly game of commander, met up for some Vegas nonsense, missed the last monorail, walked back to the hotel at 1am

I had a fantastic time on the whole... But I dont think I'd do specifically Vegas next time. It was a bit too big for my taste, and I found some of the con management a bit frustrating

Crazy commander game the ended with a 10 minute, 3-way negotiation involving Overwhelming Stampede, a 71/71 trample creature, Aristocrats life drain, and whether or not a player would heal another for at least 11 at instant speed.

for me it was the 2hg MB2 game where our opponents played Lich's Duel Mastery and we were able to break all their shields in 2 turns

I had a unique experience selling cards the other day

We got to the last handful. They were cheap French cards and he goes "you tell me what Im paying you for these. It won't be a lot, but this is a big enough deal that paying a little extra won't matter."
