I wonder if we saw the killer at all; I was thinking that season 2 and 3 you see them both in episode 1 - indeed in the previous season, i think - but I can't recall when Jan is introduced

Also, a variety of messages to charles came at very dramatic times, possibly from someone spying on them? Like, he gets the message about sazz being in LA less than a minute after saying he doesn't want to go, and they get the message from howard right when they are in Sazz's house - could just be convenient holywood timing, of course
