Hrm... I'm not sure I'd go as far as what Ian was saying, in that Nintendo "allows" their Bluetooth controllers to be used on other systems. Unless I'm shown evidence of something else, I'd be more willing to say they don't actively make it a pain in the ass to do so, which I consider different.
