If it hits the red its typically felt

No it's not allowed, that'd be considered allying, or close enough at least, it's a slippery slope. Even if it really is under the condition of getting wiped out if they don't you're still getting help directly from people outside of your team. And it's easy to just SAY that's whats happening when the intention the whole time is to have more people gathering materials for you as allies rather than by force.
