I know front wall absorption only for helping loudspeakers. your mic with a cardioid pattern should filter out most from the front side and a lot from the side by default. Your back wall would hit your mic even if your face is blocking most of the membrane. I like it for optics, but since you dont even use loudspeakers, absorbtion on the front wall would be the last step in optimisation as far as I understand audio treatment for rooms. lots of dampening from behind, corner bass traps and maybe a thick carpet should do the heavy lifting
