@pearl marten
It’s not a keyboards it’s A Commodore 64 pc with an Atari 1040STf pc underneath
Setup is meant to look 90s
Random stuff collection
Old pc
Games on floppy
A big mess
How do you scroll?
Rarely happens
Since floppies of dd are 720kb
I thought floppies were about 3mb?
I’m still saving for an crt
Depends
Not all floppies are the same
Nah
2000?
Oh
If you want too learn some stuff I recommend watching the 8 bit guy
The boomer tech hoarder doth been summoned.
STF huh, nice, that stock or have you re-capped the psu?
Stock and working
I'd get that PSU capped if you get the chance, that's pretty much the first thing that goes on those sadly.
More committed than I am for my vic, I always cross my fingers
My collega still has one of their CBM PET on display
Beautiful.
And Vic 20
They told me I could have the c64
Or the vic20
Chose the 64 because of parts and spares and games
Guy was selling his locally under musical instruments of all things...
Kind a glad I did since Vic psu are a Pain to find
Lmao
Vic chip I guess
I just bought a replacement (since the later vics and c64 share it), least that's how I justified it.
Nice, but yeah, I take it you're trying to find the matching monitor for that bad boy?
Yeah
I have an Atari mono monitor that’s basically useless
I don’t really care too much about the monitor
It’s mostly gaming experience
And giving the pc’s one last chance at what they are best at
Tbh if I sell something I won’t sell it to a random person I would only sell too someone intrigued and exited and I would sell it for cheap too
It’s just a piece of plastic in the end
If I can i would tbh
But I’m money short
I spend money on games and accessories for my st
I can barely afford a display cable for my c64
Fair enough, especially for authentic games and such.
Ye
I mean lcds don’t look to bad
I mean I love my crt
But it’s a pain too get a good one
And it’s just hard too find
So I’d rather buy a bunch of adapter cables that work
Then buy a singular monitor
When I get a second job I’ll consider
But this is good for now
That's fair, I took the L and just grabbed an earlier LCD, does pretty much what I want, it isn't one to one, but I mean it gets close enough which is all I'm really eyeing (also 10 cad at a local yard sales years ago is hard to beat for myself)
Yeah true
I got mine for free
I have a lot off connections
Most of my retro stuff was free
Let me see if I can find where the damn thing is, give me a second, the number of connections is borderline comedy
Got my c64 gifted by a professor at college and my Atari stf from my boss at work
Lmao
That’s pretty dope for retro gaming
It also has XGA support
So you don’t have too get 10 different monitors
So this thing somehow squeezes out HD
Now my theory personally was this was just a rehoused monitor panel
Ye
I can't prove it, but it is only 15 inches so..
it reeks of rehousing
Metal vesa mount was the icing on the cake
Pretty much why I'm so content with a not 100% perfect match
Though I do mooch off my neighbors crt the odd time
?
???
Like for aesthetic.
Ah
It sticks out like a sore thumb when I hook it up to anything else
True
I also swear the composite on it is dubious.
OR that's just my tandy being a pain in the ass as usual.
Sturm can you teach me how to use rf on my commodore tommorow? If possible
I thought it was just a switch box on the back no?
Nope
EH?
Yeah I absolutely need a photo of this, I'm super curious.
I’m in my bed so I can’t rn
This for a 64 or a 128?
64 breadbin pal
?
(The joke is the NTSC version is the shit one since almost 2/3 of the library of anything decent was PAL region only)
Oof
Same for the ST
When I look on eBay USA st shit is expensive
It just didn't sell that well here tbh
And on my local market place I bought 3 games for 30€
Ouch
Man I want an Atari falcon
Or STE
Don't we all
Nice
Like 1k?
Pain
Ye
Also what type of adapter cable for the monitor port in the c64 should I got if the rf is fried
Since I don’t get display
You can get a pretty cheap adapter for composite
Only static that changes with adjusting
The picture isn't perfect, but it is passable, even on the cheaper end cables, hang on
Ok
A brand-new audio/video lead compatible with the following Commodore computer systems: Commodore C16, Commodore C64 / C64C, Commodore C128, Commodore Plus 4 and Commodore VIC 20. For systems fitted with either the 5 pin DIN socket or the 8 pin DIN video socket and connects to the RCA yellow, red & white video & audio inputs of any TV.
It is very much a caveman output with caveman results, but it is passable.
Aye sounds like some of the caps went kaput (pretty normal)
Is it true it’s the same as a Sega genisis 1
I..wouldn't dance on that
Ok
Mind you I own a Genesis 2
That’s a different port
But I try to leave the "well technicality" stuff to the bin
?
Like what I'm getting at is, yeah it probably worked, but I think as these things age, you want to be a bit more picky and careful
One last thing
Do you know who I Am ?
Did you forget WANING?
Sick, now go get that sleep huh, I don't wanna keep ya up ❤️
I’m on na way to work
hi
