yo how are you
first i wanna thank you for taking the time out of your day to do this
i wanna make my setup look nice if that makes sense. Like no cables seen and just make it look good
I’m not gonna help you with decor btw. This is your setup and I believe that everyone should figure out what they want on their own. In terms of wall shelves, posters, art, all that stuff. That’s all on you.
I’ll help you figure out how to make it clean though
like make it look like if you literally google nice pc seups and the images is what i would like it to look like
oh yeah for sure i just want it to look clean
Do you care about PC on desk or do you wanna keep it on the floor
the one thing i see with all really good setups is that they have the pc on the desk itself but i dont have room for it. so would you suggest like buying some sort of bedside table thing that it can be on
well whatever would make it look the best
Are you open to top mounting your secondary horizontal monitor?
I think it would be a lot easier to hide cables if it was at desk height
the one to the left?
We want to keep as much functionality as possible while maintaining a clean setup so if top mounting isn’t something that seems comfortable to you then don’t do it
Yea
actually top mounting it wouldnt be that bad
would i then stick my pc where the old moniter is
Are you ok with wall mounting or only desk mounts?
i would have to check with parents on wall mounting. So lets just be safe and say desk mounting\
Ok 👍
should i try to get like a desk mount for all of my mintiers to make it look better or just use the stands that they come with
This is the plan
im also thinking of getting a whole desk mousepad and a boom arm for my mic
That photo is kinda shit because it’s really dark
Don’t get a mousepad that covers the entire desk
It’s going to get extremely dirty and look filthy.
Source: I had one
yeah ok i still want a better mouse bad then
would i then stick my pc on the desk or below like in that photo
That’s up to you later and doesn’t really matter much in terms of the rest of the setup
which one would be easier for cable management
Your desk is bigger than the one in the photo so you would be able to put it on the desk
yes true
Because your setup is in the left corner and not the right corner I would actually switch it around and put the vertical monitor on the left side and pc on the right side
Actually that doesn’t really matter that’s more preference.
Ignore that
yeah the power outlet is in the left corner behind the moniter to the very left so thats why its there
Ok yea then that’s fine
how do i do better cable management i dont want any cables to be seen at all\
Im going to be honest with you, im unsure of what monitor mounts specifically are actually good. You’ll have to do some of your own research on that (just don’t cheap out on one because it’s very important)
yeah do i get moniter mounts for all 3 moniters or...
Like a triple monitor mount that’s also flexible enough to be stacked. Haven’t really done a lot of research into that
I was thinking dual mount for the stacked monitors and then a single mount for the vertical, but I’m pretty sure you could find a high quality triple that can support 2 stacked and one vertical. But like I said I am unsure so you should do some of your own research into that
You would also need a vesa mount and make sure your monitors are vesa compatible
my mum wants me to have lunch sorry ill be back in a sec
100%
Alright
Ping me when you come back
@vagrant compass

I’m not very familiar with mounts you can figure that out in your own time. I’ll help you with cables
yeah ok
so im thinking of having the pc under the desk
and where the old moniter used to be have a cool statchu or something
I’d keep it on the side so you don’t accidentally kick it
Like where it is now is fine
yeah thatts true
Cable management would be a bit easier if it were on desk
yeah ok
i kinda want the pc on the right side
becuase the glass pannel is on the left side
and i wanna be able to see the inside while im gaming or is that silly
No that’s reasonable. What about the outlet?
Not necessarily
Scratch that. That’s really uncomfortable
Actually it can be used but it would be easier to either use strong adhesive to stick the power strip flat onto the bottom of the desk or screws
I use strong adhesive and it works great
and with mounts can i just like tape the cord from the moniter to the mount so you cant see it
yeah i work at a home improvement shop so i can get all of that for cheap
called bunnings in aus
Here’s my cable management
Oh so it’s not close to the ground
no not at all
I mean that’s kinda just odd imo but it’s not bad
yeah we moved into a olad ass house and we are doing it up
would i just run the moniter cables down the mount
and will i have to drill holes in the desk to run the cables under the desk and thgeninto the computer
im probably going to get a boom arm also
i need help with hiding keybord and mosue cables also
Step 1: remove everything off the desk and just have a clean desk with absolutely nothing on it.
Step 2: make sure all your cables are long enough to be able to go straight down under your desk without needing to be tightly pulled.
Step 3: after you have figured out what monitor mount or mounts you want to buy attach those to the desk and then attach the monitors in the proper position and orientation that you want them to be in.
Step 4: based on your monitor layout and the location of your pc, stick your power strip under the table into the most optimal location. After this, you will need a few raceways where you can push the cables into to keep them hidden (refer to my photo you can see the beige color raceways there. Doesn’t have to be exactly like that of course but something similar)
Step 5: connect ONLY your monitor cables (both the ones that go into the pc and the ones that go into the power strip). Start with the power strip cables. Run them down the arm into the raceway, eventually coming into the power strip. After you have got your power cables connected, guide your other monitor cables along the arm, down into the raceway, but this time they exit the raceway where the pc is and then you obviously connect them into the pc. After you got them connected and now cleaned up underneath the desk, you can take either some adhesive clips or just some zip ties or velcro ties and bundle all the cables together, where they meet going down the monitor arm.
Step 6: now that you have your monitors setup the rest is much easier. Lay down your desk pad and then your keyboard and mouse. Guide the cables straight forward (don’t curve them it makes them look kinda meh) and once again you tuck them into the raceway or raceways under your desk, eventually coming out to where your pc is and plug them in of course.
Step 7: whatever else you may want to add. This is decor and whatever you want really
This didn’t fit into the message so I’ll type it up here
On the other end where all the cables are connected into the pc. You can bundle them up and just use a couple velcro ties to hold them together
so the racewat is like a tunnel for all the cords
thats cool thanks this makes it a lot easier
Yep basically. Mine came with adhesive tape and I just attached some tape onto it and then attached it under my desk
And you can push all your cables into there
will i need to drill any holes so i can get acess to the back of the pc
No. Cables go straight down and then right into the raceway from here. I used to have them bundled up but I’m getting a new monitor soon so I’m not gonna do it for now.
Just a couple velcro ties to hold them together
yeah ok ill need to mve my desk slightly off of the wall
thank you again for all the help
ill do some reaserch on dual and single moniter stands
Yea just a few centimeters away from the wall
yeah thats all good
do you have any recomendations on boom arms
i have a blue snowball
Eh not really. Ask in #peripherals or an audio server or something
yeah thats all good thanks again
👍
is there any way to save this channel so i can read it again if i need too
will it get closed after
Don’t think so. Take a few screenshots of the chat or open some notes on your PC or phone and write down the important stuff
i have already done that thanks ill do the others
Good luck. Tag me if you repost your setup in a couple weeks or months after you’ve finished
yeah i most likly will be getting some of the stuff for christmas

What mouse?
What do you mean?

How’d you manage a sponsorship from Logitech?
