Did you just slap a button ontop or did you rewire the power/reset to a different source

All a powerswitch does it complete a circuit, so you can replace it with anything that completes a circuit.

In his case he just snipped off the original power switch, and replaces it with a regular keyboard switch which also completes a circuit
