NZXT fans use proprietary connectors and software called CAM. Proprietary fans in general should be avoided, as 99% of all fans use the same connectors
Because then you have to run software that decreases your PCs performance just to run specific fans, because then they lock you in to those fans for no reason, because lots of fans exist with the standard connectors for every imaginable config
You can lose up to 10% FPS by running CAM or iCue, and up to 15% by running both
But unlike icue, which is an entire ecosystem, CAM is only like... 3 products. So you're running a quite heavy suite of software for a very narrow part of the build. Just use standard fans, there's a million of them out there
so that only happens when u have the software open right?
The software stays running. That's the point of bloatware fans, to lock you into that ecosystem
