(should I or not)
Vertically mounting an air-cooled GPU is generally a bad idea
There's only a few cases that put it so far enough away from the side panel to make sense, at least if not using a full PCIe expansion slot replacement bracket
I wouldnt recomment it either
you can just buy a vertical gpu rack?
so its further from the glass panel
Yes, if you're willing to give up all your PCIe slots, you can buy one of those brackets that replaces all through PCIe slots with a vertical mount, those are better
Lian Li O11DMINI-1 Vertical GPU Bracket KIT /PCIE 4.0 / White -O11DMINI-1W-4 https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08TQQVZP1/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_MFD355K180VXWXGX88D2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I would mount it using this
Yeah look how close to the glass your card would be
pump isn't much below top of loop
So I shouldn't
@loud shard why is you 8 pin the lian li streamer and the other one isent?
Lol 114 dollars just for a gpu mount
The Cooler master Branded one is $35
But the o11 mini has those bottom fans really really close to the motherboard, I don't know if I would trust the compatibility with the generic PCIe replacement ones
It's also why a lot of people will tell you, yeah it can technically support ATX, but it's actually more meant to be a MATX or ITX case. @scarlet prism
i dont have it
Yeah and?
Toasty card
Whereas if it would be a blower style card, I think it would be less affected as the heat leaves from the rear as well as the fact they're already hot as fuck
Card close to glass defeats the purpose of all those fans now, doesn't it? Lol
It's hard to have good temps with an air cooled card in vert mount
You have to get it quite far from the glass
Standard 2 or 3 fan top down GPUs push air though the fans and then out the sides. They're better in chimney layout if facing the bottom intake. Otherwise the bottom fans just push the air into the side of the GPU, which then interferes with the air already being pushed though the GPU, creating a pretty wonky air path around the GPU. Compound that with more restrictions on the GPU fans, and yeah
@tired hull there’s no way for him to fix that the cards just that big
yeah i meant that, cause he doesnt have anything else in his PCIe slots
that’s exactly what i have
its perfectly fine
my 3090 sitting at 37c and while on heavy load its 75c
thats even with glass panel on
but since your gpu is chonky as hell i wouldn’t recommend it
main purpose of vertical is just to ego flex gpu style
Builds like this, where do you put the power supply?, on your video, @loud shard
O11Dynamic series of cases, the PSU is behind the motherboard. The case is a lot thicker than you may realize.
It's called a dual chamber case, there's a lot of them out there
Oh wow, I never knew that till now thanks
Corsair has one, Lian Li has a few, Thermal take has at least 1, etc etc
