Nice, you went pretty overkill with sleeved cables, 1000w psu. back then flagship gpus were only 250w from gtx 480 to rtx 2080ti and Haswell was very power efficient back then that max stock power for 4790k was like 88w, so even a build like that can run on a 500w psu lol
Do you have a new build now or planning to build a new pc and what parts?
I don't have a PC nor a fixed budget either at the moment.. I'm struggling to save money due to financial situations haha...
I cost of the upgrades were £110
But I wouldn't mind building a PC like this again as it was overkill in 2013-2014 😭
do you know what part failed in your last pc?
Motherboard and PSU.
psu like I said can be like 550w, and you can probably buy a z97 board used
Yeah :(
Not too sure which Z97 motherboards are good enough.
you dont need the best. the 4790k is only 88w max

and z boards are usually the higher end boards with unlocked overclocking abilities sense you have a k series cpu.
yeah that should do fine
Alright I basically need a new PC as my old one died, so I need all original parts in a list could you help me search for them, if you have the time?
CPU
RAM
PSU
SSDs + HDD
Cable Sleeves
Air Cooler
GPU? (2 if need be)
Case?
I doubt all the parts died. maybe before buying all the parts. bring it to a repair shop and they will test what parts still works and tell you what needs replacing
I don't have the PC lol anymore I smashed it up 😭🤣
huh? I guess wait till you have a budget and dont go ddr3 anymore if you dont have the pc anymore
Yeah well my luck isn't so bad, I have a PC that my stepdad is showing me later today which is nice 😅
Im just shocked you smashed your pc. pc's are repairable. like you may only needed to replace one part
just don't smash your next pc if something happens
i won't i got a free motherboard and a psu from my stepdad, it's an am4 motherboard (the msi gaming carbon b350, and the evga 650bp) so im going to buy a 5600 and pair it with either a 4080 super, 5070ti or a rx 9070xt)
but, ive not decided yet... so im still wanting to know.. which one is better for the money and in terms of performance.
