I’m hesitant to get an arm because I don’t want the screen any closer to my face

# thick umbra What kind of stand?

You can monitor risers at your local office supply store, or IKEA. They're like a little stand that sits under your monitor to lift it up. A stack of big thick old textbooks would work, too, in a pinch, though it might be less stable

#

I'd measure the height you want it to sit at (ideally, so you're looking straight ahead when you look at the monitor) and then find a stand/riser that's roughly that height

Also, you know those little slide out trays for keyboards and mice? I think those put less strain on your wrists. I plan to get one if they have enough room for the mouse for gaming. You can just screw them into the bottom of your desk.

#

Also creates more space on your desktop and lets you sit back a little more in a more natural position
